There were regular messages before arrival, via booking.com, with information and staff responded quickly to any questions. We stayed in a Shepherd's Hut and it was exactly like the pictures. The bed was a good size. Very clean. The views are spectacular. Although you might not see staff, there is a mobile phone number given to residents, in case of any issues.
Kitchen is communal, great for people who like to mix with other people. There is a good size sink just outside the kitchen, with washing up liquid, cloths and tea towels provided. It is a working farm, we were able to see their pigs, on the way to a walk next to the nearby stream. The stream walk (Ramparts Walk) is very pretty, either walk along it, to get into town, or cross over the road for a longer walk.
BE AWARE the shower room and toilets are communal. This is not an issue, there are doors.
We hope to come back again next year.

Our host, Donal, was fantastic. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Donal made excellent suggestions to what to do and how to get there. Bonus was a great breakfast before we left. Thank you so much for your extraordinary hospitality. Kelly and Tom

Staff were friendly and helpful, we stayed in room number 7, was very clean and beds were super comfortable! Only thing was you can hear everything outside the bedrooms but other than that it was lovely.

We came to Slane from the UK for a family wedding and were looking forward to visiting the area as well. However we were very unfortunate with our choice of accommodation and it became essential for us to find an alternative after one night. The help and care given by the staff of The Conyngham Arms Hotel who came to the rescue of four desperately unhappy elderly visitors to Slane was exceptional. Following a very distressing experience with the owner of a local B&B in Slane, namely Forest Hills Lodge (a H&S nightmare) the staff at the Conyngham Arms were all, without exception, the best examples of true Irish Hospitality and restored our spirits so we could enjoy the wedding and the rest of our stay in Ireland. We couldn't thank them enough and would definitely recommend this hotel.

lovely place, perfect for a visit to Boyne Valley because it’s in its middle , near Brú na Boinne and all other attractions. AndI was lucky to run into Gerry, a very nice taxi driver who took me everywhere for a fair price. Ask at the Tourist information office, where people are very helpful too.

Nice area with places to visit. We were attending a wedding at Tankardstown house, fabulous location for wedding. We also took some walks around the town. Quite a few shops are closed in the town….. no longer in use

Great location to tour the 'Sacred' capital of Ireland the seat of the ancient High Kings. More readily accessible information on ancient myth, legend, history and archaeology of the area would be great.

Slane Castle is well worth a visit, especially if you do the tour. The castle also has a distillery for those who enjoy whiskey. The Hill of Slane is very historic - where St Patrick lit the fire and brought Christianity to Ireland. It's best to have a car available as there are several important historical places nearby such as where the Battle of the Boyne was fought. Good maps for both the walking tour of the village and a car tour of the wider area are available free at 'The Hub' Tourist Office at the main crossroads, so go there first.
There's a restaurant at the castle, although it's a bit expensive, and several pubs and eateries in the village at more reasonable prices.
We, my daughter and myself stayed for 3 nights.
Everything was as described and expected. Easy to find and the lockbox made getting in convenient.
Host was quick to respond to messages and helpful with questions. There were also some breakfast items and snacks left for us. Property was clean and comfortable. We attended a concert at Slane Castle which was a short walk which was invaluable at the end of the night. Had a great time visiting in and around Slane. We would stay again if in the area.
Location for wedding in Slane and then to Tankardstown House could not have been better. The accommodation was excellent but a little tired. Kitchen units and furniture all showing signs of use but nothing that caused any hardship to our stay. It was a great way to get back to nature - hearing cows in the morning and the stars at night. We would definitely reccomend and stay we would stay here again.
The surroundings are absolutely beautiful. Especially as we were there in Autumn. The couple who own the house are wonderful and so helpful. Great location near to points of interests like Slane Castle, Hill of Slane, Newgrange etc. The breakfast was absolutely delicious! Fresh, organic everything. The only downfall was lack of hot water in shower and no wifi but minor details considering the rest.
Brilliant place to stay. We stayed for a wedding at Tankardstown House and it was the perfect location. Hosts were really kind and the property was so comfortable and so well equipped! So many little extras including snacks and various things to have for breakfast. Really great, would totally recommend.
Excellent, well located apartment with nice facilities. We chose this property for the last two nights in Ireland before leaving Dublin airport, which is a half hour drive down the motorway from Slane. Nice hosts, quiet, safe, very clean, comfortable, well equipped, good value.
They facilities were spotless.
The accommodation was very clean and comfortable.
The site was well laid out and quiet.
The view from the Shepherds Hut of Slane Castle was beautiful.
Lovely walks nearby.
The lighting at night was lovely and gave an ethereal mood to the site.
We had a wonderful experience at Rock Farm. The setting was gorgeous, the kitchen and seating areas are well equipped, roomy, and comfortable, and the showers and bathrooms are luxurious. The Apple cabin was super sweet and cozy too! Couldn’t have asked for more.
Lovely area. Quiet, peaceful. Great location for seeing sights around Boyne Valley. Apartment was comfortable, just right for our family of 4. Nice to have 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen, living room — all for the price of a single decent hotel room.
Beautiful restored guest house. Rooms were large and decorated perfectly in line with age of house with modern facilities. Liked there were no hosts present but if you needed anything you could go across to coyngham arms hotel.
Breakfast was served in the Conyngham Arms Hotel across the road from the Old Post Office. It was delicious and cooked fresh.
All Covid protocols were observed and we felt happy to sit in the dining room and public areas.
Location was close to the town of Slane and also the historic site of Newgrange (Brú na Bóinne) which we wanted to visit. Also, the view from the property is second to none and very quiet and peaceful.
Generally, friendly atmosphere, with vintage climate if anybody likes.
Located in center of Slane, with own parking.
Good place for weekend, if you want visit Slane Castle, New Grange and so on.
