upon arrival and checking into our room, i was disappointed with the family room. It was grubby and cold and some of the lights / lighting did not work and it had a very unpleasant odour. So I contacted reception to let them know and they offered me two alternatives, both were smaller rooms but clean, comfortable, all the lighting worked and there was no odd smell, they smelled clean and fresh. As one of them was overlooking the harbour as per our original booking, we settled for that one. The staff on reception, Raquel and Shane were super professional and handled my matter most professionally. Later that day, we had some wine and chocolates and complimentary little cakes as a gesture from the hotel which I was very touched by.
All the staff were lovely, the pool and the spa was also lovely but we were restricted to using the pool at family times only as I was holidaying with my two teenagers. This would have been fine but it seemed all adults were also allowed to use the pool during these times so it felt a bit unfair I have to say.
I loved the location, lovely outlook over the harbour - definitely worth selecting one of those rooms and having a super view of Croagh Patrick and opportunity for a short or long walk by water on your doorstep. It was also conveniently located to the town, we walked in and out on one of the days to go to the super cinema in Westport town.
Finally, all the staff in the restaurant were fantastic, excellent menu choice for breakfast and food in the downstairs eaterie, The Coast was just superb!!! We ate so well and it felt like a personable stay - we were there for 4 nights.
I will definitely return. Thank you Raquel and Shane for your fantastic service!!

I liked the live music in the bars, the choice of restaurants and the interesting shops. I got some lovely birthday presents while l was rambling round the town. Westport House and grounds are lovely, although the House is closed for renovations temporarily. Westport is a good base also for other interesting places in Mayo. All in all, good in any season.

Westport is a charming picturesque bustling Irish town...
Westport is a charming picturesque bustling Irish town situated in the West of Ireland and central to Connemara and Atlantic Way. High quality pups and eateries with traditional Irish flair, great for foodies and coffee shop lovers alike.
Traditional Irish pubs with Irish music overlook the town square and the old bridge which crosses the river where fly fishermen cast their rods. The local people are friendly and welcoming.
The hotel was a beautiful place in the country. Apparently on a golf course, so if you are wanting to play golf, this is your place. The room was spacious, clean bright and great layout. We always enjoy the kettle and coffee/tea area in the rooms. The breakfast was great and the staff helpful. We also ate dinner and enjoyed the food and menu. I thought the Westport was closer to town, but for us it was fine to a little further out. I had the best sleep, the bed and coverings were so comfortable.
The house has been transformed into a rambling B&B with character and vintage charm, and the rooms are appointed well and comfortable, spacious, and the location is good--without knowing more of Westport can't say it's the best location, though fancier/tour hotels are next door. Walking to the river and main street was 5 minutes. Everything was clean and our room was quiet. Breakfast was good--not memorable but filling. Great value for the price and a good night's sleep!
Beautiful hotel so peaceful and relaxing.
The staff are lovely and very helpful.
The rooms spotless and beds comfy.
The dinner was amazing and great portion service excellent
The quietness of the surrounding area was just amazing so tranquil.
We had a wonderful stay and look forward to returning at some point.
Diane on reception was so helpful and very pleasent check-in was so smooth.
Always a smile and greeting whenever you came in.
This was a big apartment that catered for our family group. The kitchen had everything you would need to prepare any meal. It has a washing machine, microwave, large fridge and a dishwasher. The beds are very comfortable and the views over the bay were beautiful from our rooftop apartment. It was very quiet. We ate in the sister hotel, the Westport Coast hotel and food there was excellent. We will be back to the Asgard.
I booked the hotel for my wife's birthday when we got there the reception told us they had up graded us to a bigger room with no extra cost the room was beautiful and the food in the hotel was excellent the staff were lovely and the location was excellent able to park the car and walk around the beautiful town thank Wyatt we will be back x
Fabulous Hotel. Brilliant staff, so helpful and friendly. The hotel is ideally located on edge of town, walking distance to the shops. Free parking. We ate in the hotel both nights, food was lovely. We also used the pool on both days. We visited the Wild West soft play centre which was only a 10 minute walk from the hotel.
I stayed at the hotel with my wife. The staff were friendly and attentive. The breakfast is excellent with a good choice for the 3 courses. I really enjoyed the meal and the table service was prompt and timely. The room and facilities met our expectations and I would have no hesitation in staying here again.
The location was great, right on the harbor. It was about a mile walk into town, but there were plenty of food and drink options near by the hotel. We had an view of the bay from our room, it was lovely. The room was large and offered a little sofa as well. Checking in was smooth and we had no issues.
The b&b is very well run. The hosts are very friendly and helpful, very accommodating with early breakfast and luggage storage. Martha provided maps and plenty of advice in relation to the nearby hotels and pubs. The b&b is only a short walk from the town centre. The view from the b&b is stunning.
Location was great, right in the middle of town. The hotel has installed two sets of windows on the front and our room had double paned windows on the side to cut down on outside noise. It was effective. Could open the side windows to let in the cool, western Ireland air.
Very central location, the room was immaculate & the staff were very friendly. We ate and drank in the hotel bar on our first night and had a brilliant night. The food was delicious. Highly recommend the hotel. Would definitely go back.
Kind staff, spatious room and bathroom, good breakfast, good opportunity to park in the garage under a nearby hotel. And at walking distance from the restaurants in the lovely town of Westport
Great location and easy to walk around without needing your car, parking permit from the hotel to park for free, restaurant was nice and staff friendly,
room was comfortable.
We dined in hotel due to outdoor dining same dinner menu each night with only 7 options, mostly fish ,breakfast was fine but waitstaff appear inexperienced
