Sadly Daman has lost its charm due to the unplanned construction and poor maintenance of infrastructure.
On a more better note, the roads were relatively clean which made walking around a more better experience.
Most of Daman feels like it could be any messy city. While the forts do retain some of their historic feel, is seems like an hour or two is enough take in the sights (which doesn't seem to be enough t warrant a visit).

There is very little to see or do around Daman.
There is very little to see or do around Daman. The local authorities should develop more historic or cultural activities around the place for tourists. We were interested in trying local food but no one knew about the specialities in Daman cuisine. All in all a boring place with no natural beauty to captivate tourists.

Jampore Beach was excellent, clean, and very peaceful in our late morning visit. We did not stay long, but were impressed by the peaceful setting as we drove along the beach lined by palms. Some of this area is still under restoration, but not a problem. Would like to return and spend more time visiting in the future.
We simply enjoyed skipping stones in the gentle surf and getting our feet wet.

I think Daman is a great place for a weekend getaway especially from Mumbai. The drive is not too long just about 3 - 4 hrs depending on if you make a pit stop for food inbetween. There are several eateries serving amazing Gujarati food on this route.
Daman has amazing beaches - one sand beach and one rock beach, both very different but provide amazing views at Sunset. There is not much to do outside of the beaches or the resort/hotel you are staying at. So a weekend trip is perfect but longer than that and you could get bored.
Additionally, fuel up when you are in Daman. It's a Union Territory and the petrol/diesel is a lot cheaper :)
Avoid local bars/thekas or pubs - since Gujarat is a dry state several people cross the border to come here to drink and it can get quite shady at such shops. Don't wander around too late at night in the evening as well try to be back in your hotel by 7.30/8pm at the latest.

Daman is not a Tourist Destination, it is more of a Industrial Hub. The beaches are very dirty and smelly- No fault of the Governemnt or People, the water is itself very dirty.
The people are friendly. You can come down to enjoy and relax in your hotel, resort.
It is best to get your own vehicle or a private Taxi.

Daman is easily accessible from Surat and Baroda, both by train and road. Hotels suited to every pocket are available. Restaurants and bars are quite good. Different varieties of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, including seafood is available at restaurants as well as road side kiosks. People are freindly and helpful.
Owner of the hotel feels like a family. They were helpful in providing the information and were very sweet with us. Whatever we wanted was just provided by a call. The first day I did not have a rented bike on first day so the owner himself drove me at a nearest wine shop elaborating all the details about the nearby locations and brought me back. The breakfast was bread butter, double egg omlette with tea/coffee. They are about to start kitchen soon to serve lunch and dinner.
Breakfast was with limited options as they are very new and just starting the restaurant.
The ambience of hotel was amazing, very neat, big rooms, cleanliness to the highest levels.
Hotel room ambience and the bed linens and toilets excellent, lot of gaming options and a perfect gym.
The way it looks in photos is just the opposite.
There was AC baba Adam zamane ki it was not working,
The toilets were dirty, the room was not clean , and the smell was coming , flush was not working ,
The hotel looks good for 1 hour stays ppl
Not for family.....
Hotel is good and food is awesome i was annoyed on one point they charge more than the MRP on cold drinks and water bottle which is against law.
Food is good but very delay once you place order it takes more than 45 mins to come on the table..........
Hassle free booking and I liked & interior with the prime location of the hotel.. very convenient to look for eating options also easily can be reached to various destinations.
Food was decent, Bar & Restaurant inside hotel.. Free car wash.. Nice and cool stay.. TV and AC in both the rooms.. Toilet was clean.. Towels white big and spotless
The property has potential but it is still a long way to go before calling itself a 5 star rated resort. Breakfast buffet was well spread and it was delicious.
Staaf attitude is nice in reception, restaurant & security personnel at the gate.
Location is good, note - it's muddy water so don't compare with goa beaches.
