As mentioned by the host, the keys were kept where it was supposed to be. We asked for a self check in for privacy sakes and Divya and her dad understood the assignment very well. My girlfriend and I visit cochin once in three months at least and this place will remain our constant.
Peaceful and quiet location and stone throw away from the main road, so easy access to buying things and local transport too. The food they serve is amazing and we loved the breakfast the most.

Everything awesome, the owners are a lovely couple that is very friendly and hands on.
The rooms are spotless, large, with a beautiful bathroom and many thought through details for a great stay. Their home made soaps have a fantastic scent. The garden is beautiful, with a good size pool and river views.

Vala House is located at the very end of Cherai Beach, a quiet and serene location, perfect to unwind. We stayed there for 7 nights and felt very welcome throughout our stay. The room was tidy and clean, with a beautiful view on the backwater pond and the sunrise. The staff were exceptionally caring and forthcoming: Lalu took care of our laundry and even got our torn clothes fixed at the tailor, Vishnu organised a trip to Allepey for us. And above all the breakfast was delicious with classic home cooked Kerala meals and fresh fruit and eggs. Cherai beach is a stroll away and a small beach can be reached within minutes. Can highly recommend a stay at Vala House if you’re looking for a quiet and beautiful getaway in a non touristic part of Cherai.
