The staff were so friendly, the receptionist who checked us in was lovely and the breakfast staff and morning reception team were great. The room was clean and comfortable and everything we needed.

Amazing location with panoramic views over the sea. One wakes up and falls asleep to the sound of the waves.
The apartment is very spacious, the bedroom is a decent size too and the beds very comfortable. Parking on site.
The terrace is no longer shared with the neighbours, a wooden wall has been built to divide the terrace so each apartment has their own private part.

It was the best place we stayed in Iceland so far. The whole apartment was super cozy and warm. Sleeping with the sound of the sea is amazing. While we were there there was a blizzard and we were actually happy because by being stuck we could enjoy the place more. Super recommended
Centrally located in the old fishing village of Olafsvik, this hotel is less than 1 km from the harbour. North Star Hotel Olafsvik is set amongst the scenic surroundings of Snaefellsjokull Glacier.

Great price and good location on the Snaefellsnes peninsula. Nice communal sitting area.
Place and people are nice,
the right position to visit Snaefellsjokull National Park and the west of the peninsula.
There are no easily accessible restaurants and shops, you have to provide all your supplies.
In the hostel, you have a nice functional kitchen, refrigerator, and a small bar to buy drinking and snacks: light beverages, juices, potato chips, and smarties. To find milk, bread, and food, you have to wait for the day after, at the nearest shop with a minimum 15 km run. Once you organize yourself, life is comfortable, and friend are nice.

Small, quiet town along the water near the tip of the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. It is quite beautiful in the area with sites nearby. The location is great if you are spending two days touring the peninsula. The murals are fun to view but that's about all there is to do in the town itself.

We were trying to find a hotel close to the Snaefellsjokull Nat'l Park. Now that we have been there, we would opt for staying on Olafsvik (with 2 restaurants for dinner) or go to other side of park at Hellnar or Arnarstapi.
Hellissandur didn't have much going on, except Gilbakki Kaffihus is very nice for mid-morning snack, lunch or afternoon break. Very nice people.

I went to climb Snæfellsjökull, a 30 year ambition. Weather was horid, glad to not be spending the next 300 year as part of a glacier. Lets say it was an exciting day and not for those without experience with Ice weapons.
This was one of favorite stays in Iceland and the vacation home was huge with kitceh and 1. bed with gorgeous ocean view right on top of a cliff..Beautiful location direct at the sea, very clean and huge patio with ocean view, High speed wifi and awesome collections of traditional Icelandic songs with a CD player. Really friendly host and will def come back and stay here again. 10/10 for sure for this wonderful stay
The location is just stunning! Could have stayed the whole holiday there. Great view from the privat balcony (family of seals to watch with the provided binoculars you find in the appartement). Super comfortable beds, nice equipped kitchen and all you ever need in the bathroom. If you stay in Hellisandur, go and have yourself a great dinner in the Vidvik restaurant, that makes you stay perfekt.

The Adventure Hotel Hellissandur is absolutely fantastic. Firstly, it looks brand new, clean and its very well maintained. Secondly, the staff are brilliant. * and * were very welcoming, engaging and kind. They even provided advice on our 9 day expedition. Lastly, the food made was incredible. Highly recommended hotel for such a good price.
Everything about this stay was great! The place had great vibes and was very comfortable to stay at and hangout. The staff was wonderful and were very welcoming! I ended up staying at a quiet time so had a room to my self basically, but felt very comfortable and welcomed throughout the hostel. I would definitely stay again if I came back to the area!
I loved everything about this place! The kitchen had more utensils than most people have at home, so many choices of board games, and all the books! Made you feel like you want to stay for a month to discover everything on the shelves! Such a great idea for an apartment! Do not miss a chance to get breakfast served by a real viking in RAM Iceland!
The apartment is very conveniently located in the Snæfellsnes Peninsula and close by hiking and sightseeing - about 10 mins or so! It was very clean and cozy and made for a perfect first night stay in Iceland. Definitely recommend if you want a scenic stay with patio, small kitchenette, bathroom, and a separate living space!
Freezer Hostel has a huge living room, with musical instruments, many books, games, coffee & tea, very warm and inviting, and immediately feels like home!
I even made some music with one of the staff (flute & guitar), met many great people.
This is probably the best (or one of the best) hostels in Iceland.
Beautiful, cute and quaint house. Loved staying here. Very responsive hosts. Would highly recommend! Great location to explore the peninsula. Restaurants in town were all closed for the season but we found restaurants 10 mins away and a grocery store so no problem. Loved the murals in this town also.
amazing location, Hellissandur is peaceful and lovely, the apartment is so comfy and welcoming, there is no tv which I thought was great, I liked the records and bluetooth player, way better than a tv, the balcony overlooking the sea was just divine
It was perfectly located to explore Snaefellsnes. Quiet, clean and very relaxed. Fantastic big lounge/chill out area with lots of board games etc. It’s a hostel so don’t expect a hotel but we really enjoyed our stay.
The first morning we got a breakfast box for each one and it was not very good. The second morning there were more people in the hotel and breakfast was served and each person choose what to eat, much better.
It was our first experience with “no reception” arrival but it worked very well. Email received day of our arrival provided code for entry to hotel and code for room. The rooms were exceptionally clean.
Really nice place with an exceptional view. Perfect location.
Appartement very well equipped and comfortable.
Proximity to Gilbakki Kaffihus one of the best we found on our tour of Iceland
Anna had given us a warm welcome, helped us with our trip preperations and was the best host we could ask for!
We loved the place so much, we decided to stay one more night here
