The hosts were very kind; the breakfast was simple but it was enough.

the host and her daughter were very helpful and allowed us a late check-in, they also gave us a bunch of recommendations on places worth visiting during our road-trip around Sardinia. we only spent one night at the B&B, but the room was great - a comfortable bed, clean and nice bathroom and the most important a working AC (not a standard in Sardinia from what we heard). the breakfast was also nice - typical Italian sweets and coffee :)
If you have a car you can explore beaches. It was August so many beaches were quite full, and normally you had to call to book.
We went without calling and almost always found a spot somewhere (2 sunbeds and beach umbrella). It is impossible to stay on the beach with 33 degrees without an umbrella. Bring your own or rent one (in August the prices are high -50 euros).
Only Spiagga Tuerreda was completely full and we would have to queue to get in.
An interesting beach is Spiaggia di Nora (it also has 2 restaurants and archelogical site), so you can spend whole day there.
Some beaches are reserved by the hotels nearby and you cannot use them- normally in one bay there are two or three beaches, one to book, one free, one from the hotel.
I loved that you could see flamingos everywhere (from the highway, near beaches, next to our hotel).
I would avoid going again in August though - it was too hot go walking in the city , to go birdwatching and cycling in the flamingo park (Molentargius)...Also, prices were much higher than out of season.

We really liked the discussions with Antonio and his wife about the island of Sardinia and local culture and history. They recommanded us very good restaurants and places to visit in the region. Capoterra is only about 15-minute drive from Cagliari.

A better place to stay at the end of our trip, far away from ugly buildings in the center of Cagliari, the ugly port and giant chemicals companies in the vicinity.
One needs to drive over 40mn to get to nice beaches and scenery of big mountains + olive groves.
Parking at most beaches at the end is 8 € !
Sardinia is excellent for swimming in beautiful and clear ocean water.
Still have to be carful of where one swims as there is alwys a bad smell of maybe "sewage" going to the ocean!!
We enjoyed the quiet location of Villa Zola. Staying in Poggio dei Pini gave us a feel of life in a Sardinian village. The villa has an interesting design which we liked a lot, i.e. plenty of light, roundish walls and ceilings, stairs, balconies with views over the mountains and the sea, spacious rooms and bathrooms. For breakfast there is a nice selection for various tastes and we didn't miss anything. The hosts were very friendly and helpful with sightseeing planning, arranging transportation, etc. We appreciate their commitment a lot.
In contradiction to other accommodations in Sardinia, the villa was well furnished and gave an old countryhouse feeling. Beautifull furniture and very good outdoor space. We had a good time staying there with 8 friends (4 couples). Every bedroom had its own bathroom. We had an issue because the hot water stopped working, but the owner came by and fixed it within an hour. So fast communication. It was also possible to check in a bit earlier.
The pool was bigger then we had imagined, we mostly stayed in the garden and by the pool.
The house itself is very nice, taken care of, with gras and nice place to sit. The pool is also very nice, it goes gradiently deeper so very good for children. Also very important: you can use the Pool all the time!! Also during the night. This is something rare :). The interior is a bit updated but clean. Breakfast is pretty simple, full of sweets. The beautiful beaches are at least 30 min away, either way so you definitely need a car. All in all a good place to stay and visit the South of Sardinia.
Stuff was friendly, Michelangelo especially.
The dinner buffet was surprisingly good.
They have a nice pool with sunbeds under the sun and big sofas under shadow, which was great in the mornings.
Very good water flow in the rooms.
We also liked Luchia - a lovely fluffy cat that would show up in the mornings to demand some attention, and eventually, you can see her in the evening, but only if she's in a mood.
The flamingos were in the lagoon in front of the hotel when we visited

A lovely country side B&B close to Cagliari.
Great large room and lovely to sit in their garden at night, only the birds were whispering.
Marcello serves a continental breakfast in the morning. We had a great quiet (!) stay which is important for us.
Ps if you don’t want to go back to Cagliari for dinner, there is a great pizzeria in town Su Stampu
Good communication via Whazzup, warm and friendly environment, clean and stylish house, nice garden. Parking in front of the gate. Good WiFi. And last but not least - fantastic breakfast including home-grown fruits. Ideal place for stopever when travelling south-west coast of Sardinia or for vist to Cagliari. Excellent experience.
The property itself was in a great, safe location outside of Cagliari. Very easy to get to! The host, Antonio, was very kind, gracious and helpful. He answered any and all of our questions. The property was beautiful, and the breakfast outside was such a nice touch.
Beautiful place. The room looks like it is brand new. Great location. Minutes from the beach. Great restaurants. Minutes from Cagliari. The host was very accommodating. The room was spotless and cleaned everyday. We loved it so much we extended our stay.
The rooms are large, super clean, there is a large common area with a pool table and table tenis. The location is quiet and safe. One of the best beaches of Sardinia (Chia) is cca 35 min. (There are closer ones, but it is worth it to drive to Chia)
Quiet and great location to reach the beautiful beaches south west of Cagliari avoiding the stress to pass through the center. Big rooms and comfortable bedding. Good breakfast and dinner too!
Lovely little B&B, good distance by car from restaurants, beaches and Cagliari. 20min Drive from the Airport, therefore a great place to start your vacation in Sardinia.
