Pienza is a beautiful village, the Val d'Orcia is breathtaking. We were welcomed by Paola, who is a magnificent ambassador for the property, she really made us feel incredibly welcome. The restaurant was also excellent, we had a fantastic dinner. We came off season, (March) which added to the tranquility. I think you would come here to enjoy a quiet, peaceful retreat, and it is a nice base to explore the Tuscan wine region.

Pienza is small but has an excellent selection for dining. Sight seeing in town is somewhat limited but affords terrific views over Val d'Orcia. If you like Pecorino cheese, you have to visit the shops in Pienza. Quick bite, try Pizzeria Pummaro near gate into old center. For charm and quality meal try Pane Vino & Zucchero. For all round the Trattoria la Buca Delle Fate is good. For a good hike outside of town, don't stop at the spot where they shot the Gladiator scene, keep going.

Pienza has one main street which means it can feel crowded when a relatively small number of people visit. There is limited free parking which is also used by residents. There are a variety of small shops which mostly sell typical regional products. There is an abundance of Pecorino and hams. It is possible to buy a range of different quality of jewelry. There are also a few clothes shops. There is a beautiful panoramic walk on the entrance from the North. The town is blessed with a variety of restaurants and bars which are mostly tradition Tuscan food. There are also at least two ice cream shops. The market takes place on Friday. In October there are a number of events such as the chocolate festival which means it gets very crowded on the weekend. There are limited public services such as clean bathrooms. I limited the amount of time that I visited the town during my week long stay mainly due to access to parking. You have to pay 24/7 which is a problem for evening meal when travelling alone in the dark at a parking meter.

From Pienza, you can enjoy, by viewing from the town or making short visits neaby points, very beatiful landscapes of typical Toscana farmland where green feild is spreading over the undulating hills, quite picturesque scenery. Town itself is small but pretty.

We utilised Pienza as a base from which to explore various towns within the Val D'Orcia, a world heritage area. We could have stayed longer to visit more towns and explore mountain biking trails. Pienza in itself is clean, beautifully restored, has chic dining spots and it was a privilege to have visited.

Pienza is now one of our favourite destinations in Tuscany. We have visited San Gimignano, Siena, Monteriggioni. Montepulcino whilst travelling by car and have found Pienza to be so pretty and enjoyable to be in. Parking was easy to navigate and the laneways of Pienza were quiet and so charming. The walkway/lookout side of the town provided vistas that you would hope for. Pienza is also quite close to those classic Tuscan scenes/photos that you may have seen previously.

Magnificent views of the gorgeous valley and hills beyond from the terrace outside my spotless, comfortable room. Pienza is in an incredibly beautiful location, and the hotel in a privileged position to provide marvelous views as well as easy access to Pienza itself. Shower was small, closet-style that barely fit my 6'3", 250 lb. frame, but water pressure was good, and other facilities were in good condition and working order. Very helpful and congenial staff. Outstanding breakfast and cappuccino. Hope to return with my wife one day.

The three days we stayed at Palazzo Massaini-Le Scuderie brought us a pleasant and perfect experience in Tuscany. The hotel is located on a hill with a view of Pienza and the Tuscan countryside. The hotel itself is a landscape, and passing cars will stop to take pictures. The three windows of the room look out to the beautiful scenery of Tuscany and the hotel garden! The room facilities are perfect, the breakfast is rich, and free capsule coffee is provided in the room living room. Perfect experience, we will come back again!

If you want to feel like at home, this is your place. Elisabetta and Gianluca were extremely kind to us at every moment. Breakfast is simply perfect, with km 0 and home-made products that make it delicious! The room is big and comfortable, at the very centre of Pienza. Elisabetta is very good at suggesting tailored plans and options in Tuscany. They are also very careful with COVID-related matters, always very much taking care of guests. I would go definitely stay there if back in Pienza or nearby. Simply perfect!

The location was outstanding with excellent Tuscany landscapes and a great view of Pienza. Very peaceful, this place is ideal to recharge your battery by spending the day at the pool and visit numerous little towns around Pienza including great wine cellars. The owner lady was so warm welcoming and helpful to give information and recommendations while the staff was very friendly and helping. Very nice breakfast with a daily homemade bread and cake. We will definitely go back!

Peaceful, beautiful grounds around the hotel. Staff and very attentive, booking a wine tour at a local winery with added discount :) Breakfast was delicious, especially the juices :) made with all local products. Ate dinner every night during our 3 nights as was easy to enjoy wine without driving home. Be sure to get some wine, cheese at local town in Pienza, 15 min drive and enjoy on hotel grounds by the pool while watching the sunset, spectacular!

This place is wonderful. The host, Cincia, is very warm and inviting. The grounds and rooms are large, inviting, and well manicured. The castle is beautiful, and the breakfasts are wonderful. This place was the highlight of our stays in all of our 6 different central Italy stays. Additionally. The castle's location was perfect for sightseeing and wine tasting. Cinci's restaurant recommendations were spot on, especially the one in Penzia.

Alice and Simon were so helpful with everything. Although the apartment is on three floors, we didn't have trouble navigating the stairs and Simon helped us with the luggage. The property is right in the heart of Pienza and it's a delightful village. You can see the church tower from the bedroom window. (The bells do toll several times a day but I loved it.) We couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay while visiting Tuscany.

The nearby town of Pienza is great for dining out. Overall, would definitely recommend and come back next time.

There are several parking spots for the hotel guests and if there is any uncertainty the staff help and direct. A good position to reach other towns and villages around. We stayed in several towns throughout France and Italy during our trip and this was our favorite by far! The room was incredibly spacious, clean, had wonderful views, friendly staff, and a great breakfast each morning. Having a car is a must at this location, but well worth it. This was our home base for four days as we explored the hill towns of Toscana.

Despite the disappointing aspects of our stay, the hotel's close proximity to the charming town of Pienza was a redeeming factor. A short walk allowed for easy exploration of this picturesque destination. Additionally, the hotel itself was housed in a visually appealing building, adding a touch of architectural charm to the experience.
