The hotel is right in the centre of the town near to the sights and restaurants. But be aware it is on a steep hill. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a good selection for breakfast. We had a junior suite with a good sized bathroom with shower and with a small balcony which offered a lovely view across the roof tops.
This family-run hotel is surrounded by the hills of the Tuscany region. Just a 10-minute drive from Volterra city centre, the hotel offers an outdoor terrace and extensive gardens.

Volterra is a nice hilltop town with a few churches and museums. The shopkeepers are friendly and they have some lovely artisan products.
There is a large outdoor market on Fridays when the whole place has a wonderful atmosphere.
The alabaster sculpture are stunning and unusual.

It well located for visiting other cities and towns in Tuscany.

The villa was a wonderful place to stay!
The villa was a wonderful place to stay! The building was built in the 15th century but has all the modern amenities. Our host/owner Luca was so accommodating in every way. His staff prepared a delicious breakfast each morning with many varieties of local cuisine. He had even prepared a map and detailed itinerary for several day trips if we wanted to explore the surrounding towns and other sights. This hotel was an excellent find.

not the most interesting of fortified hill top towns, but nice enough. Not an awful lot too see apart from the stunning views and the inevitable torture museum which we came across in three other locations

Volterra is a beautiful historic town and walking around the narrow streets feels like stepping back several centuries in time. Walking around the traffic free central area was a pleasure. We visited several historic buildings including the beautiful cathedral. Also some excellent museums with great collections and works of art. There are many lovely restaurants and cafes too which make Volterra well worth a visit.

Comfortable and recently renovated apartment, all appliances (big shout out for the bathroom with its amazing rain shower and the mattress) were new and the house had a cozy touch. We also had a nice small patio at the back.
The property was well maintained, including beautiful and clean pool area.
There is a possibility to see their farm animals and we also enjoyed picked fresh veggies from their garden.
Last but not least, good location to visit San Gimignano e Volterra. Recommended!!
We like everything about the hotel. The facilities are great, but what makes it special is the owner - Luca family.
We arrived late, but Luca switched on the light of swimming pool for us, and let us use the plate for dinner.
The breakfast is the highlight of this hotel. Luca and his wife cook everyday to ensure guests can enjoy the fresh and amazing Italian food.
In addition, This is a family run hotel. You can feel the whole family tried to make you feel at home .
Hosts are so nice people. They do their best. Smiley and helpful. Food in restaurant was excellent. I think it is the best restaurant in Tuscany. Swimming pool has wonderful view. Our room had fantastic terrace with view on every evening romantic sunset. Atmosphere is extraordinary. There are so much Italian climate in all hotel area. Truly Tuscany place in the middle of nowhere where you can feel calm and relaxed. Thank you for organizing such a great time for us.
The hotel is located down a gorgeous, quiet off road from the main square in Volterra and is situated next to some great artist studios, galleries and restaurants. The staff were so welcoming and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and offered lots of choice to suit all tastes. The room was air conditioned, compact but very comfortable. It was the perfect base for exploring Volterra and couldn’t recommend enough.
Breakfast was great! The breakfast staff were fantastic and the espresso was perfect. The location was in the center of Voterra "old town". The room was plenty big, more like a suite. Plus the rooftop cafe was very convenient and useful. As hotel guests, the cafe staff were happy to cork our bottle and provide us with a plate and silverware for the wine, cheese, and meats that we bought at the food and wine festival (VolterraGusto 2023).
Absolutely an amazing stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are extreme clean and we had a real nice patio where we could enjoy our breakfast.
We had a lovely stay. I would recommend this hotel to everybody who would like to visit Volterra. Is it in the city centre and just a 2 minutes walk.
Thank you for this amazing stay. We will return to Volterra one day and then we definitely will pick this hotel again.
This was the perfect, scenic, quiet location just a few minutes outside our favorite hill town, Volterra. Tall cyprus line the drive down through the vineyard to the picturesque quarters with a swimming pool and a stunning 360º view from absolutely everywhere. The wines they make on site are very good, and Claudia's cooking class for a 4 course meal was as fun and ended up with a really fantastic meal.
The host was very helpful. This property is best used with a car as it is located in a beautiful, rural area outside the town of Volterra. But the rental agency in Florence did not have the car we had reserved when we arrived at the airport. We took a bus to the to Volterra and the host picked us up in the evening and took us to the bus stop the next morning. Tremendous, above expectations service.
What a beautiful apartment! Ours had an exceptional balcony / patio that overlooked the garden and had a view of the landscape and hills. So nice we decided to have a dinner of meat and cheese on the patio. The place is also easy walking distance to the town center of Volterra. Very unique history to the building, which the owner happily shared with us. Wonderful spot and service!
The best place to rest in a tactic position at 10 minutes to Volterra and 20 minutes to San Gimignano.
The nature of those hills is so good, you get up with an amazing view and sounds of sweet birds everywhere.
They treated us like home, that couple is the best!
You have to go there, you will never regret that!
I will surely come back there!
Beautiful location close to Volterra. Everyone was so nice and we felt like special guests of the family. Great restaurant on site (wild boar pasta!) and delicious breakfast. Definitely an authentic Tuscany experience off the beaten tourist path.
The location of the hotel is really in the middle of the way to Volterra or San Gimignano, so was really easy to visit both cities. Also, it is a quite place, very new installations and super friendly staffs. Our room was very clean.
wonderful stay in a simply furnished former convent. beautiful views from the second floor rooms. the cloister area is great for drinks and dinner, and breakfast. hotel in a quiet area and the staff are very friendly.
Beautiful location on outskirts of Volterra with stunning views. So quiet. Owners gave me some seasonal vegetables from their garden that were just delicious. Exceptionally nice spot.
Cannot say enough good things about this large, tastefully decorated, centrally located (a short 2 minute walk) next to everything you would want to see in Volterra,
The location of the hotel inside the very center of Volterra, inside the fortress, is simply great. The staff was very friendly and nice, and the breakfast was good.
