The food was amazing! We had an excellent breakfast before walking the Kumono Kodo trail and the lunch bento box was delicious as well.
Nice smell of incense on arrival. The dining room was very cool with alot of American memorabilia. I love the saloon doors that lead to the bathroom.
Really close to kii tanabe and Isakyas as well.

I loved the interior of the Guesthouse.Its design is in the details. Koji gave me a lot of information about day trips on Kumano Kodo, also about the good Izakaya in Kii Tanabe.

If we ever come to Tanabe again, we will be sure to stay longer to enjoy all that there is to do there. Having visited Japan so many times, this trip was probably the best of all. I followed the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage and experienced both the people, the culture and the religion of ancient Japan. I spent in total about 4 days walking and all of the accommodations (family run b&b and a hot spring hotel) was all very clean, with tasty food and friendly people. A great little town, and ideal jumping-off point for the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage. The pub quarter was a fun place to get a drink and dinner: great Tako Yaki. Both the Tanabe Tourist Information Centre staff and the Kumano Kodo Travel staff were impeccably professional and helpful in making arrangements for the pilgrimage walk.
