Truly exquisite hotel with excellent facilities and the most helpful and friendly staff. The rooms were in excellent condition with lovely views. The pool was heated and superbly maintained. All areas of the hotel were immaculate and pristine. Staff were incredibly helpful, for example, making separate dishes at the buffet to cater for allergies. They were always on standby to anticipate our needs, for example, asking if the children would like a ball to play with in the pool. The spa was calming and a great place to relax and unwind. The facilities were extensive and had something for everyone. This truly was a gem of a hotel.

The staff were amazing. How kind of them to offer our traumatised driver a snack after he had driven the wrong way and taken some time to get here on unsuitable roads. The views, the room, the food. The relaxing lounge area. I really don't think I can fault this place.

The reservation was confirmed by bookings.com and when I called them, they also confirmed it and sent me the location too. ( proof available).
But on arrival, I was informed by the reception that the bookings were full and that my reservation could not be accepted.
Yes they said sorry for the mistake, but it took me many kilometres and my valuable time to go to the hotel and get it informed. Totally dissapointed.

We were told to treat the magnificent bungalow as our own home as we arrived and had a drink in the wonderful colonial drawing room. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely amazing, the afternoon tea was the best I have had in my life.
We loved the walk around the tea plantations and swimming in the infinity pool

There is nothing to do in Hatton, the city itself is not very interesting. However you can take the scenic train route from Kandy to Hatton and then join the tea plantation tours and hikes and afternoon teas.
Many leeches so beware.
Way colder in temperatue than Minneriya, Dambula, Kandy etc.

Hatton is a scenic and beautiful town in the mountains.
Hatton is a scenic and beautiful town in the mountains. Gorgeous sceneries anywhere you look. The town has plenty of shops and banks. Pretty convenient to get everything you need. The hotels are run a bit differently to Colombo and Kandy. Not sure how to explain, but things are bit slower. It is great to hike there and search for waterfalls and the nature and beauty is unending. Lovely local people, friendly and kind. The temperature is seriously pleasant without the humidity. Even the tea plants love it.

lovely area - i would have liked to stay longer and do Adam's Peak . I enjoyed walking through the tea plantations and seeing the factory - and there were other hikes to do that we didn't have the time to do. Also, it is not too far from Kitulgala which is also a great place to go. we rafted there and loved it - and there is also a lovely rain forest there that we did not have the time to explore.

The Hatton area is the centre of Sri Lanka's tea industry and has a cool moderate climate. The area around Hatton and especially Castlereigh Lake is spectacular, with beautiful tea plantations waterfalls and stunning vistas. It is at an elevation of 3,000 meters so pack warm clothes as well as t-shirts as the weather is changeable. As a result of decades of British colonialism the region is dotted with fantastic Bungalows and the locals will speak English. If you can, try and arrive via train (use the second class tickets, first class is aircon and too cold with non-opening windows) from either Kandy or Nanu-Oya (Nuwara Eliya) its one of the most scenic train journeys in the world.

Hatton is the gateway to Sri Paada pilgrimage for the travellers from Colombo or specially the tourists. The town is small, packed but friendly and could have been lot more planned, cleaned and visitor friendly.
Our host was just fantastic! He made sure that we were comfortable and we had everything we needed. The surroundings of the property are great. We took an evening stroll in a tea plantation and could stay for sunset, with views on Adam's Peak.
The good thing is that this is a small building with two identical rooms/bathrooms. Not a crowdy hotel with loads of tourists.
We asked if we could get some food for the evening meal... it was outstandingly delicious and not too spicy! Breakfast was also outstanding.
Nice and clean rooms, owner Saman is great and helpful, he helped us with rent a motorbike and taxi to other place. His wife is great cooker, best in Sri Lanka, really, you have to taste her rice & curry and deviled chicken. Saman has also other business in Hatton, they rent motorbikes, we can recommend his services. Rent motorbike from Saman and drive around, it's very beautiful here. Waterfalls, lakes, tea plantations etc.
Thank you very much.

The accommodation was beter than we could wish for.
We are backpackers, on a budget, we stayed here to go the next day to Adam’s peak. We took the big room with the mezzanine and it was just what we needed!
The host was very friendly, they even arrange free transportation to the hotel if needed. The staff were very friendly, even tho we are not the easiest to please.
The room was a bit cold, but on demand you can receive a heater.
And above all that, the room was not overpriced!
We had such a wonderful stay here. First of all, Ravi and his wife were so nice and helpful and served us an amazing breakfast! The location of the hotel on top of the water pools makes for a beautiful view from the balcony and the sound of the running water is soothing. The beds are amazingly comfortable and I had the best sleep here. Loved all the plants and the stairs and would definitely recommend staying here.
Right next to the train station only a 5minute walk away and overall a great location with easy access to the bus station, shops and restaurants in Hatton. The owner was so welcoming to us and helped us arrange transport around the area- one of the nicest hosts we’ve ever had! the room was fine and the hot shower worked great as well as the fan. would definitely recommend this place- thank you😊
Beautiful scenic mountain view from the balcony, Walking distance from Hatton town, room was very clean with comfortable beds and clean bathroom. The landlord, Rishard was very hospitable and helpful. He arranged our tour to Adams peak and other attractions around the area. We also enjoyed a nice breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay at Whitehouse Bungalow.
what a wonderful homestay. Nice room with sunrise views from the bed and the echo of monks chanting and birds singing - wonderful experience! Best food I have had in Sri Lanka so far (3 months) Gorgeous family who make you feel so welcome and go the "extra yard". I stayed 7 nights and the breakfast was different, filling!! and with the view - so special.
Nice colonial house, refreshing bedroom and modern bathroom.
The service we received from the owner and staff was outstanding. They helped us with all our inquiries and most importantly got us our train tickets to Ella!
Would recommend if you are passing through Hatton. Note that the home is close to day traffic but the night time is very quiet!
The staff were super friendly and very accommodating. The Barman in Nessies bar was especially good as was chef Suresh who went out of his way to explain dishes due to our allergies and also showed us how to make a traditional Kottu (which was delicious).
Impressive welcome and departure process and a lovely clean hotel with comfortable rooms.
The hotel is so spacious with so many amenities. The food is delicious and they always give you a lot of food. The staff is so helpful. The surrounding area is just jaw-droppingly beautiful! The prices are a little higher than some area hotels but with all the amenities and meals included it was very worth it!
Staff (especially Daya & Laxman) were excellent in attending to our needs, rooms were very big as well as the bathroom, food was good, location was nice- surrounded by tea plantations, etc.
Outstanding located in teeplantation with 360 degree view.
Very friendly manager and very good cook who prepares delicious breakfast and dinner.
Not far away from Hatton railwaystation
Breakfast & the Location was good. Service was excellent. I was visiting this hotel on work at Talawakelle and though a little distant from my place of work it suited me fine.
