Everything was great. We asked if we could get a ground floor room due to my wife having difficulty with stairs, this was organised for us. On arrival we were two hours early but were allowed to check in early once the room was cleaned. On seeing the views from a first floor room we asked if there was any possibility of changing room this was also allowed.
Other than a fantastic view the room was large, clean and very well equipped with self catering facilities. The bed was also very comfortable.

I remember like propably 10 years ago, people use to go to chetumal especially to have a lunch at calderitas but dont see calderitas the way it use to be. the government needs to promote more that area. Also the city center, there are some places that are vandalized by graffiti which gives it an odd. I cannot complain about the night life at the malecon, its really lively with many arts, concerts and food vendor. That gives it a plus. I like that now you have uber. It does help alot for me

The local Maya Museum has a very interesting cultural approach for those who have no prior knowledge about this people, but has a painstakingly small collection, I don t think there are more than 15 original items on display, though some of them quite wonderful. The archaeological sites nearby are very hard to access other than by rented car, which are pretty sparse, too. Some are even closed to the public, without bothering to state that online.

Chetumal is a great tourist destination.
Chetumal is a great tourist destination. The food and entertainments are great. I enjoy the places that have the live singers in there. The only recommendation I would have is they need to have at least one representative in their business that can assist with the tourist that speak little or no Spanish. They are very few places that makes the effort to accommodate the language difference. Other than that they are very welcoming to Belizeans at least when I am there I feel welcomed.

The room was clean, the air condition frost 😊, bathroom functions great which is always a deal breaker when the water or toilet delays. So full points there. Honestly the only thing that would have made the experience better was the absence of a mini refridge which would have been good to have and also if the tv was smart. People want to be able to stream stuff. For a luxury hotel it needs to upgrade with this generation.

Chetumal is a regional destination, not an international destination. Do not plan an overseas vacation to Chetumal. If you live in Belize or southern Yucatan, you already know that Chetumal is a decent place for shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. That is because Chetual is the largest city in the region.
We wanted a chill for a night before a flight to Mexico City and this place was what we were hoping for. There's a large TV for Netflix, an interesting hammock situation (I've never seen a hammock mounted in a small room before, but it was cool!) and a comfortable bed. The air conditioner was definitely a huge plus! The kitchen was functional and the hosts were nice, it felt a little bit more like an AirBnB than a traditional hotel.
We absolutely loved our stay here! Juanita is the nicest host! We got a room upgrade and had a fantastic room, with a small kitchen, lounge area and great bathroom. Value for money is unbeatable. The hotel is right at the seafront and the small pool on the roof is extra! When we came back to Chetumal for our ferry, we stayed here again and would do so anytime in the future!
Hotel dont honored my reservation, front desk person on charge, a men rude, cancel the reservation and dont given to us feed back why they do that, hotel looks like terrible and old in a not safe zone, really bad experience. There are a lot better opcions in a safe lacation. Dont make reservations for this hotel.
we arrived early for check in and was able to use the pool until the room was ready. the pool was clean. we didn’t use the restaurant, however the price of beer was cheap! the room was clean, the bed was huge and comfortable. location was quite central. we only stayed for one night in transit. wifi was good
Marina was the best host one can expect. She was kind, always available, she even had our clothes washed and dried even though it wasn't included in the reservation. The morning of our flight, she kindly offered us a ride to the airport. Thank you for this amazing moment.
The location is great and that is the only reason I would stay once more. The staff is also great, very helpful, have excellent PR and are very attentive. Since I went to "El Grito" the parking was not an issue since the hotel has a very convenient parking lot.
Hotel Villa Fontana is a lovely, immaculately clean hotel with friendly, helpful staff and great facilities. It is located in the centre of Chetumal, just next to the Museum of Maya culture. We will definitely stay there again if we return to Chetumal.
The staff members were very friendly. Most of their staff are females, so solo female travellers will be very comfortable. I had a good experience. Would recommend it to everyone else, wanting to spend a few days in Chetumal.
The location was great but over the years that I have been going to Fiesta Inn, it seems that they have not been keeping up with upgrades for the hotel. Other than that, the staff was quite helpful and we enjoyed our stay
Large room, great king size bed, excellent wifi, wonderful location, good hot water, 24 hour desk and a tv that actually works...its a real hotel close to everything in chetumal
Nice, clean, simple hotel. Well located in Chetumal, walking distance to the ferry terminal. Very friendly staff at check in. Big room and a comfortable bed.
