We had a lovely 1 bedroom room exactly the same as shown in the photos.
It looked out onto the water and it was lovely to lie in bed watching the
pukekohes and weka walking past. Very private.
All the staff were excellent. Good walking tracks nearby.

We really enjoyed our stay at Punga Cove. We were hiking the QC trail and were happy to stay the night in such lovely place. The views are just incredible. The restaurant was also good with very friendly staff.

The location is gorgeous - it was nice to get away from the town. The hosts were really nice and the breakfast was delicious. The check-in instructions were clear and helpful. They kindly facilitated our very late check in as we were getting the late ferry.

I have found a new favourite holiday destination in Te Mahia Bay Resort! The location was amazing set on a private beach, the owners very helpful and we were in one of the rooms that is over a 100 years old but has been modernised, but still keeps some of its yesteryear charm, so very unique and special. And these particular units in the resort are truely waterfront, which was a lovely surprise. We tramped in from Anakiwa on a section of the Queen Charlotte Track for three nights, the restaurant was closed for the season but we had access to a full kitchen so just took in all we needed. We just loved it all!
We spent a lovely 2 nights over New Years in the Moa cabin (...
We spent a lovely 2 nights over New Years in the Moa cabin (with 2 bedrooms, shower and bathroom). The owners’ family were all staying so there were lots of kids running around which delighted our little almost-3-year-old. Everyone was super welcoming particularly on New Year’s Eve when we were toasting marshmallows on the campfire.
We had a few nice (cold!) swims off the jetty but there’s also a small beach nearby plus Schoolhouse Bay beach about 30 mins walk away.
The cabin was really comfortable and well-appointed. We did a big shop in picton to get us through the 2 nights - mostly stuff to cook up on the barbecue (which worked well). Apparently if you’re there for a longer stay you can get the picton supermarkets to deliver groceries so that’d be worth asking about if you were there for longer than we were.
We’d happily come back to the cabins - maybe next time we can visit as part of the Queen Charlotte walkway (when our little one is a bit grown up)!
