Great guesthouse. Confusing as there is a sister hostel in the town with the same name, but this one is a 5 minute walk out of town, which is a little confusing. Owner was very nice despite no English, and he communicated well. Let me store luggage at no charge and take a shower and change on return for a small fee. Breakfast was satisfying and overall good value

A great place to start hiking in the Colca Canyon, and they let us leave our bags for two nights plus did laundry!

Very basic lodge, which was far from clean, especially the bathroom. The location of the camp is really fabulous with the natural hot springs you can use.

Great team to support your needs in Cabanaconde. Ludwig and his team make your stay excellent and worthwhile. They treat you like family and spent time to support you with the activities and hikes. The rooms are clean, food is good and their take away lunches are great for the hikes.
It’s the personal touch that makes the difference between great and excellent!
In Covid times, it was hard to get to Cabanaconde.
In Covid times, it was hard to get to Cabanaconde. There is only one official bus (Andalucia) and it departs from Arequipa very early or too late. There are also collectivos people can take to get there (local buses). Once there, the village is great, people are so helpful and the hikes are amazing!
Please not there is no where to take money out, you absolutely need cash for everything.

The people are really nice.
The people are really nice. I lost my wallet, while paying the fees to get in the park. I went down to Sangelle for one night, and the man (Patricio) who found it, brought it to the tourist place. They called every hotel down to reach me and kept it safe until the next day.
A big thank you!

Hiking Colca Canyon was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Breathtaking scenery with a unique flora and fauna. I highly recommend the hike from Cabanaconde - Oasis - Llahuar - Cabanaconde). Cabanaconde itself is a very small, rural town with lovely and traditional inhabitants.

An incredibly quiet non-touristy destination that we had chosen to get an additional view of the condors without the crowds. It was a great stay for the evening and gave us another glimpse of life in a quiet Peruvian town. People were very friendly and helped us with directions without being asked.

A very cute Inca/ Spanish town and not full of pretentious 1 day wonder tourists that you get, say in Cusco. Only serious travelers who are keen hikers come here and what a pleasure to b amongst those few.
The staff was really great. We had to cut our trekking in the Colca Canyon short because of sickness and the staff of Pachamama was very helpful. Even though we did not get to see from the Colca Canyon what we wanted, we had a really great stay. They helped us in the coming days with some other activities around Cabanaconde. There were also some amazing animals, the dogs Nano, Cholita and Lola and the cat Minino (if I write the names correct ;)). Beside of that the rooms were really clean and the food was great. Bedankt voor alles!
The location is just breathtaking and definitely worth the walk from Cabanaconde. Roberto is very friendly and helpful, and speaks English, which comes in handy.
Another plus are of course the hot springs and the nice food.
Finally, the fact that all lodges in the Colca canyon accommodate the free roaming guide dogs is just the icing on the cake.
Considering the secluded location and comparing it to other accommodations in Peru, the comfort and hygiene were astonishing.
the family that runs the hotel is amazing. they are all so sweet and helpful with planning our trip into colca and also for bus information.
they cooked breakfast and offer homemade dinner, which is great because the town is minimal :)
it has a beautiful center garden patio area with hammocks and lounging areas that they are more than happy to have you relax in after your colca trek even if you aren’t staying another night.
he rents trekking poles and has luggage storage.
We loved everything! I highly recommend anyone going to Cabanaconde to stay there. Fabulous food, very comfortable accommodation, hammocks and sofas for relaxing open to the sky.
Extremely caring and helpful staff. Brilliant map of the hikes in the canyon, and also local walking.
We felt very much at home, well looked after and safe.
So much excellent information about the hikes, we were talked through the route.
What more can I say! Don't miss staying here!!!!!
La Posada del Conde is a comfortable and clean old style hotel that's a short walk from the Plaza de Armas. Service is friendly. Breakfast is scheduled to start at 7am but when I wanted to leave earlier Jorge got me breakfast at 5:30. Meals are available and offer a selection of several options from a menu. They stored my bag for four days while I hiked in the canyon.
although staff couldn't find our booking, once we arrive we've also been upgraded and it was very nice to have a bigger room than expected with hot shower. it gets cold very quickly once the sun sets.
They were also able to prepare a quick breakfast for us the following morning at 5am before staring our trek back to Cabanaconde! super nice :)
what a fantastic place! And the owner is making it even better, with a roof terrace / restaurant opening later this year. nice garden, clean and comfortable rooms and private bathroom, tasteful breakfast, free tea, friendly and helpful staff! Advise this place over the more expensive, crowded and less comfortable hostels in Cabanaconde.
Lovely location midpoint on the Colca Canyon trek! Feels like a resort without resort pricing. We had our own private bungalow (very simple) for $20. The pool was great. The property was set up nicely. Lovely experience! The bed was also extremely comfortable. Feels like glamping!
After the welcome tea we received all the information for the trip to the canyon. Also a special transport for our next stop Puno has been organized! The staff was very nice and helpful and I enjoyed the familiar atmosphere! It was just the perfect place in Cabanaconde!
Paradise. Beautiful yard and garden. Breakfast served early to facilitate early start to hiking in colca canyon. Two adorable and friendly dogs. Rooms were nice and clean. Staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. Wish we had planned to stay longer.
The property was very clean and equipped with modern appliances. We were pleasantly surprised to see that this hotel in a small town even offered hair dryers! The owner was also very friendly and helpful.
the hot springs at night was the highlight of the colca canyon hike, and the staff was super nice and helped us reserve a place in a different location for the next night of the hike.
Hotel was in a truly spectacular location.
Very helpful owner kindly let us leave our car at their hotel in Cabanaconde whilst we walked in Colca Canyon for 2 days.
Good location, on a main square in Cabanaconde. Good showers with hot water and good water pressure. Rooms and facilities are basic but ok. Breakfast included.
