The room was wonderful, the balcony was amazing with its views over the river and valley. The area is tranquil. Tomas the owner was extremely helpful even allowing us the use of a microwave. Once the pool has been completed this place will be outstanding.

Our stay here was a truly special experience. A really unique location with a sensational view, wonderful rooms, and a beautiful pool. But the best part is the people who have pampered us here and give this house its finishing touch. We felt completely comfortable and really enjoyed our time in this special house. Thank you, and we would love to come back!

This was one of the nicest places we stayed during our trip to Portugal. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a river view room which provided a spectacular view of the Duro. Enjoyed sitting out on the balcony The staff was very friendly and helpful Patricia and Rafela made great suggestions for touring Quintas and even made reservations for us at these places. Paulo gave great recommendations for dinner and was very helpful Parking was on the property and free. The breakfast had many choices and tables provided a view of the river We would definitely stay here again
Sitting in 120 hectares of Douro Valley vineyards, this traditional manor house has been converted into Portugal’s first wine hotel.

Quinta Nova is an amazing experience and the location and views are outstanding, the staff were lovely, although language was sometimes a challenge, they may have been a little short staffed while we were there as we did have to wait a while when we ordered drinks a few times. The position and overall experience was wonderful.
Situated in Armamar and within 15 km of Douro Museum, THE PINTA Boutique Hotel has a restaurant, non-smoking rooms, and free WiFi.

Folgosa is very small but at the bottom of the hill is a Michelin star restaurant! Great food, atmosphere and service. Otherwise there are only a couple of very small restaurants. It is a pleasant short drive to nearby towns/villages that have more dining options. There are so many vineyards nearby. The one right next to Folgosa - Quinta Dos Frades - provides an excellent tour of the property and tastings. At other vineyards one does not get driven around the entire property. Folgosa is a nice place to use as a base to explore the Douro Valley.

Folgosa is a tiny town perfect for establishing a base for excursions in the Douro Valley and specifically for its proximity to the destination restaurant DOC, which is worth a visit for any “foody”.
We walked to and from our dinner which was absolutely perfect!!!

We arrived at Folgosa from Porto at 10pm, and got there very easily by GPS, even if the roads are dark and there is no specific sinage. The owner listened our presence and welcome us with a genuine smile and a glass of homemade port wine, and just asked about the time we would prefer to have our breakfast next morning. The room was very simple, the badroom is quite pleasant and the bed has a standart double size, comfortable enough besides.
When we woke up and opened the curtains, just realize I would spend the rest of my time in this place chilling in the terrace because the view over the Douro river and the vineyards hills is stunning. At 10am, as he promised our countryside breakfast was set outside the room on a specific table at the terrace just for us. Such a good breakfast with everything we can expect, btw credits for homemade bread, pineaplle cake and free range poultry eggs.
Definitely recommend for everyone, you are going to fell in love for the genuine side of local people, the view and the silence that you can find here

very quiet town. only one place to eat supper that was reasonable, but it was good. There's a friendly delicious bakery/ coffee shop for breakfast/lunch. Beautiful village. Close to everything in the Douro valley. Great walking...steep steep hills. Wonderful views from the very top.
This historic inn is a jewel! Beautifully kept, immaculately clean, and adorable. The host is very friendly. The breakfast was delicious and different each day. It’s in a great location, a charming small village just off 222 in between Peso da Régua and Pinhão. Don’t be put off by the narrow, steep streets - you’ll make it! The price is amazing for what you get. It’s air conditioned and has beautiful views of the Douro.
I liked: - the friendly, attentive host;
- the beautiful, charming old house;
- the wine tasting and the wine in the hotel room for an exceptional price;
- the view of the river and the hills;
- the stylish interior design;
- the curious dogs;
- the fresh, homemade breakfast;
- the pool area inviting to chill at;
- the quiet location;
- nice hotel guests.
We spent 2 unforgettable nights at this hotel. It's just a fantastic place. Only 4 rooms with stunning views of the valley. Excellent rooms, very comfortable beds, excellent linen. The hotel manager does everything to make your stay at the hotel unforgettable. Great breakfast. Super recommendation. We will definitely return.
Breakfast is good,
The room is big and clean, the bed is comfort
The location is not too far away from the city, and there is a beautiful view outside the hotel, you can go jokking if you've time.
Specific timing of Wine tasting session if you stay at the hotel
I visited beautiful Portugal for 2 weeks and stayed at Quinta do Tedo for 2 nights. Every detail was attended to, making us feel safe and comfortable. The outstanding views and breakfast further enhanced our experience. I would definitely choose to stay here again!
Good location in the Douro. The pool area is great to relax and the view is beautiful. Good breakfast. Would go back.
Just a little tip: if you want to visit Port House in the Douro: reserve on advance, it’s quite busy :-) Pur favorite Quinta da pancheca
We loved the location! Upon arrival we were able to take a nice walk in the vineyard. The view from our room of the Douro Valley was great! Our hosts made us feel welcome despite the language barrier. Breakfast in the family kitchen was a treat.
Location is perfect, the quinta has all that is needed for a relaxed stay and is very clean. The breakfast is simple but good, the owners are very friendly. Folgosa is centrally located in the most beautiful area of the Douro.
Awesome place, host is very easy to be with. Breakfast on a balcony over the douro…. Anazing start to the day.
Yes folgosa is a small village and you need to drive, but its worth it. Communal fridge was a bonus!!
Great views around the hotel. Includes wine tastings and a tour of the vinery. Optional activities such as biking and kayaking are included with the stay. Great wines and olive oil you can buy on the site.
stunning location, beautiful hotel with very helpful and flexible personal. We extended our stay for one more night, because it was really nice and worth to stay in this hotel.
