Nice and different place about an hours drive from Lisbon. Had everything needed for a good stay. Nice stay and even dairy free pancakes which were a bonus due to an allergy.
Host was lovely and pool a bonus.
We got bitten quite badly by mosquitoes. It had rained quite bad so wonder if that was a factor? The title says it 'country' so of course there are insects and the like within the vicinity.
Located in Azambuja, Casa do Alfaro provides accommodation with pool with a view, free WiFi and free private parking for guests who drive.

Fabulous hosts who picked us up at the train station. After checking in they drove us to a restaurant in the next town as none were open in the immediate area.
Situated amongst the traditional white buildings of Santarem, Hotel Umu was recently renovated and offers free Wi-Fi access. Parque da Ribeira which overlooks the River Tagus is only 3 km away.
