The host is a charming person. All of my special requests were met. Place is beautifully located and the area around has many places to visit: Alpedrinia with its Roman path, Garduńa mountains, river beaches and the nearby Fundao and Castelo Branco. In addition to that one can find a lot of interesting events organized by local communities.
Offering a shared lounge and garden view, Quinta da Porta - Solar de Vale de Prazeres is situated in Vale de Prazeres, 38 km from Monsanto Castle and 49 km from Belmonte Calvário Chapel.

Cerca Design made my mum's birthday to be special. I can't thank enough the staff. Definitely a place to stay. Spotless clean, great location and friendly people.
This elegant hotel combines modern architecture with luxury amenities. In a tranquil location outside Fundão, Alambique - Hotel Resort & Spa features 3 swimming pools.

The Staff is great, the new SPA zone is also really good, but it's still an hotel and on this it fails absolutely to be good...the rooms are old, very used and not clean at all, actually there's a big cleanliness problem on this hotel.
Don't let your self go with the pretty photos you see, while the rooms are not remade and the cleanliness is not improved this Hotel is not worth even half the price they charge.
It's such a shame that currently in Portugal Hotels charge you 5*+ money but deliver 2* service/accommodations...

The host is warm and attentive. He gave us the key personally and explained the details of the house. Yes, you need to walk upstairs for rooms but we find no problem to us. Car can be parked outside in a quiet and safe village. Kitchen is fully equipped and the house is just 5 min from highway. We highly recommend others to stay here is you travel to Monsanto and Covila.
We live in vale de Prazeres! And chose to stay locally for a treat (having lots of animals at home 2km away, it was both practical and pleasant).
Vale de Prazeres is worth a stay and has all the facilities you might need -- bakery, pharmacy, Post office (with external ATM machine), shop, hair-dresser, restaurant and various cafe/bars.
It's a good choice as a base for travelling about and getting to know the wider area and there are many walks/hikes you can do around the locale.

Vale de Prazeres is a typical, quite characterful and pleasant Portuguese village with a good complement of bar/cafes, a restaurant, pharmacy, bakery, mini-market, post office, ATM, hairdresser. In short has everything needed even if you are staying without transport for a few days or longer. It's worth a walk through the winding small streets and around the local minor roads and pathways. There is a train station about a kilometer from the center, which could allow easy access to the regional cities of Fundao (15 min), Covilha (25 min) and Castelo Branco (about 30 min) and various other smaller local villages on the train route, which is useful if you don't have your own car... although the daily trains are not numerous so you need to plan ahead. Visiting (or living in) Vale de Prazeres is bit of a 'step back in time' where you can still buy coffee and cakes, or perhaps a 'mini' (25cl beer) and tosta mista (ham and cheese toasted sandwich), or maybe an iced-tea and empada (little chicken pie) and still have change from 5 euros -- even in 2023 (time of writing)!! (p.s. I've lived here over 10 years so I know whereof I speak :D).
