The room was so big and comfortable. The pictures don't do it justice. The beds and pillows were the best. The facilities were top-notch and exceeded our expectations and we heard nothing from the other rooms either. Couldn't believe how quiet it was, even though it was fully booked.
The staff in the restaurant were lovely and very friendly.
Breakfast was varied, quality fantastic, and lots of choice.
The mini bar was a bonus and a nice touch.
The location of the hotel was very good and convenient to get to other parts of the city.

Hotel Devin is a retro slice of Soviet era architecture that genuinely feels like stepping back in time. The public areas have a formal but very comfortable feel. This follows through to the bedrooms. Simple, classic, and oh, so 50s. Loved it.
I found the bed very comfortable, and the room was equipped with all the amenities you would expect.
I also had a great river view, which was unexpected for the price I paid.
I didn't use the restaurant, or the spa (I'm not that flush), but I couldn't miss a visit to Cafe Devin, which I understand is a nostalgic institution in Bratislava. It is a treat... absolutely gorgeous. The bar area, too, looked inviting...dark wood and upholstered armchair heaven.
There are plenty of large chain hotels along the river, also in a good central position for visiting the city that are super bright and appealing. However, Hotel Devin offers an intriguing dip into recent-ish history that is often lost and played down across the former 'eastern bloc'.
Hotel Devin is a gem of a place. I am so glad it has been preserved, and it is obviously cherished.
