We decided to do a touristy weekend, came over form Portland. We found the perfect breakfast spot, very inexpensive and SO good! The Riverwalk Restaurant, the biscuits and gravy are to die for. Our favorite seafood place is South Bay Wild Fish House. We love walking the streets and going into all the groovy little shops. Took the Underground Tour this time which was so fun! Visited the Astoria Column which was so interesting and the scenery from the ground and the top of the column was breathtaking. The climb up the column had me out of breath so caution if you have medical issues or are just plain out of shape like me. My grandson and I went bowling at Lower Columbia Bowl when a beachside fire was out of the question for grandpa lol . Had a blast! We love Astoria!!

Love the antique and unique shops on Commercial in downtown Astoria. Toured the Flavel House, which I definitely recommend. Found a funky sportsbar called the MerryTime which serves giant juicy burgers. Love the sound of the seals and the maritime feel of Astoria.

Astoria is a busy place, lots to do.
Astoria is a busy place, lots to do. We went down to spend time with young grandchildren and took a good friend and his son. Booking.com advertises This motel at $60 a night and it was $175 a night so we could not stay as long as we would have liked. I think misrepresentation like this is a crime and I felt cheated.. The motel blamed the price change on Booking.com.

The hotel location was super.
The hotel location was super. We were within walking distance of a few restaurants. We ate at the Bridgewater Bay Bistro only a couple of minutes walk. The fresh caught halibut was wonderfully tasty. We also ate at a local Mexican restaurant, El Tiapatio, (10-minute walk) from hotel. The restaurant was colorful and food and drinks were great. Many locals were also dining there. The riverwalk is directly in front of the hotel. There is some construction on it, so it was not as accessible as it might have been. The Trolley is running only from 1-4 pm. Museums are a 30-35 minute walk from the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed the Heritage Museum with history of Astoria.

We booked this hotel while on our road trip and it was a perfect stop. The staff was very welcoming, the hotel is cool and trendy, the beds are comfortable, the homemade granola at breakfast was delicious. Upon check in we were told the hotel has an agreement with the nearby bike shop and cruiser bikes are free for one hour. It was great! I would recommend the bike path in the direction opposite to the bridge, much more scenic and quieter. Good for walking, running and/or biking.
The hotel was in a great location, easily walkable to lots of restaurants and bars and the waterfront. It was very clean but the rooms were quite small. We happened to be there during a heat wave so it got a little toasty but we had extra fans which made the heat tolerable. Probably my own ignorance but I hadn't realized that there was no staff at the hotel. Luckily we didn't need anything but it did feel a bit odd and impersonal, a little cold.
The room was very clean. Nothing fancy, but it came with free wifi, a small fridge and microwave. It is within walking distance to 2 fast food places, the Astoria bridge, the riverwalk, and the shops on Commercial street. The staff was friendly. If you are looking for an economical and convenient place to stay, then I recommend this place.
This was a very clean and comfortable place to stay for a night in Astoria. There’s off street parking, location is just a block from Commercial Street so easy to walk to town. There’s a shared lounge and kitchen with coffee maker, toaster and air fryer (?) if you have your own food (coffee provided).
Property was on the waterfront with a beautiful view of the river and the Astoria Bridge. I loved the sunset and listening to the sea lions. Also made use of the trail along the waterfront behind the property. The property is convenient to the grocery store, restaurants, and novelties.
The building and the room have an incredible charm! They did a very good job in keeping the style of the time through the decor as well. They added useful features like a minibar with a coffee machine and minifridge. I would definitely stay there again if we pass through Astoria.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Took the time to talk us through many different recommendations for things to do nearby, and taught us all about Astoria. We had a great time at the brewery they recommended. Also, though small, the room was comfortable and warm.
We were pleasantly impressed with everything. From the great welcoming service from the front desk, our room was very comfortable with very comfortable beds and the view was fantastic.
This hotel is in a great location close to everything.
The view of the harbor from our balcony was superb. The size of the room was adequate. The location was close to the heart of Astoria and the other attractions around the area. Traveling to the other nearby towns was easily accessible.
Right downtown, near great brewery, Fort George, but not noise.
Charming old hotel refurnished. Boutique Hotel. Norblad Hotel was built in the 1920’s by Albin W. Norblad who was later a governor of Oregon.
Breakfast was good and the room was comfortable. It's right near the pier and waterfront so there was a lot of beautiful views. Quick drive to downtown Astoria and most of the tourist attractions.
This property offers uniqueness. It’s for sure not the cookie cutter type property of big chain hotels. The views from our room were very nice, especially the Astoria bridge at sunset.
Nice, clean, comfortable beds, quiet, box fan, fridge/microwave, walkable to downtown area and river path. Nice old style American hotel that has been well-kept and remodeled.
