Great coffee shop in town, I think it was called Brewed Awakening, excellent coffee, food, and atmosphere. I had the fruity waffles which were super yummy!
Big Pine is a great launching pad for the Ancient Bristlecone Pine forest, 4,000 year old trees just off the first exit off of 395 north!

Lots of pine trees and old homes.
Lots of pine trees and old homes. Mountain Views Galore and amazing views of the Ancient Bristlecone Forest. Friendly people, lots of wildlife, and many roller coaster-like winding roadways especially route 168 which you have to journey through!
This is the second time we stayed at this motel. Good value for money, the guy at the front desk, was very polite and helpful. Really like this place over others because they're dog friendly and there is no extra charge (tired of being fleeced by other hotels for traveling with a dog). Will def stay again should we return to the Big Pine area. The washroom is rather huge so that's a plus too.
We went to the hike on Big Pine Lake, and it is really close to the hike. It takes about 20 minutes from the motel to the trail. The room is big enough for family 4-5 ppl. The room has big space with microwave and small fridge, and it has small mini-mart and restaurant beside it (literally you can just walk to get food and gas). Recommend for people who are going to hike around the area.
The room was the cleanest and comfiest motel room I’ve ever stayed in! I was pleasantly surprised at how cozy it was. Most motels gross me out a little bit, but not this place! It was simple but super clean, I even didn’t mind walking barefoot on the carpet (something I almost never do). I wish more motels were this comfortable!
Great hotel. Very quiet, check in staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms were comfortable and very clean. My girlfriend forgot her iPhone when we checked out and the cleaning staff had set it aside so we could return and recover it. Definitely would stay here again next time in Big Pine.
It was really hot, we had an ac though, it just turned off in the middle of the night. The location was absolutely perfect, a really quick drive to big pine public parking to get us at the beginning of the north fork trail! Its a motel, so as you expect it to be, but check-in was easy.
upon arrival Staff gave me cookies and bottled water. Room was clean, new bed, pillows and lamps. Good water pressure. Toiletries included toothbrush and toothpaste. Pleasantly surprised with this budget hotel.
This is a very nice hotel! The manager showed me round the room, and I felt very well welcomed. I arrived a little bit late. They called me prior to my arrival to let me know that I needed to buy food in Bishop.
Clean . Just what's needed for a couple of day plus the chevron is right there to purchase food, items needed gas etc...also great location to enter to big pine lakes trailhead.
