The Buffalo Bill Museum was interesting.
The Buffalo Bill Museum was interesting. We grind the 3-miles on a graded gravel road to the Little Jerusalem Badlands and did the short walk to the overlook. There’s another trail that was much longer. We decided to skip the much longer gravel road to Monument Rocks and, only because we’ve been to many fossil and rock museums, we also skipped the Fick Fossil museum. *tip: the TA Travel Plaza has several taxidermy specimens upstairs, plus an IHOP and more.

Oakley has a couple of museums, the Fick Fossil and History Museum which was very interesting and definitely a must see in Oakley! There's also the Buffalo Bill Museum and Visitors Center. Oakley is convenient to several sites in the area and a great place to stop on your way Westward.

The motel was on the main road in town. Plenty of parking.
The motel was on the main road in town. Plenty of parking. Only issue was having to travel about 2 miles to get something to eat.
Room was nice and comfortable, ac worked great, hot water (but had to run a bit), all rooms were on one floor.
Prices was reasonable. I would stay again if traveling thru the area.

Oakley small community, not much there. Just driving thru.
Oakley small community, not much there. Just driving thru. This hotel was the only nice hotel we found off the interstate. Oakley does not have much of a food choice or places to eat.
What we did not like about Oakley, the smell from the feed lot.

If you're passing through Oakley, you should stop and see the Fick & Fossil Museum but don't make the mistake we did and go out of the way to visit it (interesting but small - the other half of the building is the library). Goto the Buffalo Bill Cultural Center if you want some Kansas magnets/souvenirs.

There are many issues with this property.
There are many issues with this property. To begin with, the pool was extremely dirty and we were unable to take advantage of it based upon this issue. I booked this hotel because the pool looked to be a lot different than it ended up being. There were no less than 8 dead flies in the window sill inside the room. The shower and bathroom is dated. WIFI is nonexistent, if you need access to WIFI to not count on it at this property.
On a positive note, the staff was very friendly, the room was clean and beds comfortable. The breakfast was very well thought out and complete. I would not stay at this motel again.
I travel across small town midwest for oil field work and have stayed at a variety of chain and private small town hotels. That being said, I know what one can expect from aforementioned properties. The Oakley Sleep Inn is a touch above average. Both hot tub and pool were open and clean. Wifi signal was strong and easily accessed. Ample parking and space for dog walking. Pet fee is very reasonable.
This cute little nostalgic mom-and-pop motel in Oakley was immaculately clean, and the staff we encountered was so nice and welcoming. You can tell they are proud of their motel. The rooms were comfortable, and, as I said before...very very clean and tidy. A nice overnight stay for us as we travelled to Colorado. We will stay here again.
We love this motel! The room was charming, comfortable, clean, well equipped. Everything worked and nothing was damaged or shabby looking. The young man at the front desk sent us to a wonderful place for dinner. Breakfast was in a delightful breakfast room. The eggs were freshly made and hot. There was even home made coffee cake.
Very nice people. My room was nice, clean and comfy.
The people of the town of Oakley were very nice.
I liked how my room opened into a little courtyard in the back.
I had a problem with losing my car keys one day and they were patient and kind to me. Yes I found my keys.
The property is renovated and upgraded. Although a vintage Motel - the original sign promises "Color TV & Direct Dial Phones" - everything is current. The rooms felt spacious. The king bed we had was quite comfortable. There was a microwave and a refrigerator.
I was surprised at the room upgrades that had been made since my last visit a year ago. I had enjoyed my experience last year and the room felt like an upgrade from last year. I will stay here again without doubt when I travel thru Oakley again.
It was quiet and I was not bothered. I'd been sick and in the emergency room prior to coming and I needed to rest. I was able to rest
I had everything I needed.
Staff was very kind which I deeply appreciated.
Oakley is a nice little town.
The Annie Oakley Motel is our "go to" whenever traveling I70. Can't beat a quiet room that is consistently clean , super comfortable at a reasonable price.
