Everything....Ski in/out, access to Olympic Village, Staff responses, friendly guests, equipment lockers, kitchen, views ....
It's very easy to get around. We had no problem finding parking (beginning of April) or getting reservations at restuarants. The visitor center is very helpful! Great location to get to the other little towns and to get to trailheads for hiking and snowshoeing.

It's just too busy.
It's just too busy. It's been overdeveloped to within an inch of its life. Not just Tahoe City, the whole lake. Our trip was September 23. Road works all the way round at various intervals, so driving was from hell.
Far too many "no access" "private beach" "so and so club only" signs. The private beach with our house was around 100 feet long with "no acceess" signs on a fence at either end. Even the jetty had a "access only to so and so boat club past this point" half way down it. The places you can go are inaccessibble due to traffic. As we say in England "It is knackered" Worse for me than a beach holiday in Benidorm and 10 times the price. It must have been a truely remarkable place but as with all accessible places of beauty, the Uber rich and the greedy have ruined it. Far busier even than Lake Como. We went from Tahoe to Yosemite National park, and stayed in the Valley. Nowhere near as busy! Yosemite was less expensive all round too. Probably great if you like crowds and have young kids. The water was lovely. There is a really good Safeway in Tahoe city with a good Thai restaurant opposite. (Vegan options Yay!)

Tahoe City is a lovely old mountain town with immediate access to north Lake Tahoe and nearby ski areas including Alpine Meadows and Palisades Tahoe (Previously Squaw Valley). The town is quite historic and still retains some of its historic mountain charm. Unfortunately, the town has recently been rediscovered by vacationers and now is often overrun by tourists, travelers and skiers. It has become expensive to stay here, and it is hard to find reasonably priced nice lodging and the parking and traffic are often difficult and on weekends downright impossible. On a "good" day it is a 20 min drive to Alpine Meadows or Palisades. When the traffic is bad, these trips can take one-hour plus in each direction! Even with these "warts", TC is still a wonderful place to visit and enjoy all the many wonderful things to do in and around Lake Tahoe.

Vons in Tahoe City, employees are very rude, customer service extremely poor!
Blue Agave restaurant employees were very personable, adhering to COVID guidelines. Tahoe city Rafting company very accommodating, pleasant employees. Lots of traffic on streets.
Our room was a basic hotel room for a reasonable price. It looks like there have been some recent renovations, especially in the bathrooms, that we appreciated. The room was clean when we initially arrived. The location is great, easy walking distance to the lake, shops, and restaurants.
Aside from the issues mentioned below (no nightly cleaning, staff often not present), we liked the hotel for the price. Given these issues I'm not sure if I would return. I'd be more inclined to try somewhere else first.
This Inn was delightful! The location in Tahoe City was within east walking distance to the beach park, good restaurants and shops. It was super clean and very comfortable. Even though it was contactless
check in, the owners reached out via text message, answered questions about the local area and personalized a greeting on a board in the room when we got there. They made it feel warm and welcoming.
This home is the perfect family get away, we will definitely stay again. The view of the lake is beautiful (especially for morning coffee) and the location is central to enjoying the Tahoe City area. The neighborhood is quiet and the home was clean. We especially appreciated the fully stocked kitchen and 4 bathrooms. All beds that were used were comfortable.
The hosts were very kind and willing to go the extra mile and gave plenty of accurate and thoughtful recommendations. Very charming setup, especially during the holiday season. Well insulated and heated cottages with ample of space, good beds, pillows and nice bathrooms. Very close to Lake Tahoe (walking distance).
The place was very nice, located in a position with a good view and near a lot of restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable, the girl at the front office was precious for us because she gave us useful information and helped us to find a place for dinner also if it was later.
The hotel was minutes away from the lake, (that was a plus) the room was pretty decent, we stayed on the second floor and it had pretty nice view, the room also had a microwave, coffee maker, and a small fridge.
We had a wonderful experience at the Sunnyside Resort. The view of the lake is really awesome, room was clean, the staff at this property are all great.
Highly recommend this hotel for anyone :)
Fantastic location, service was excellent. All the staff were so friendly and helpful.
It had the feeling of a family run hotel with the young and older staff working as a great team.
Very comfortable house with a great location. It's near the main area of Tahoe City, but all the windows face out onto forest. Bathroom in the master bedroom is really nice.
This was the perfect place. It was my sister's Bday and the hotel put Champagne on ice with 2 glasses and a card that said Happy Birthday. I'll be back
