The events and details they had planned for the eclipse weekend were well thought-out. The property was nice and I would consider coming back for the right circumstances.

506 River Inn is located in the quiet area of Woodstock. My room was quiet, reasonably sized with lovely views. The food was excellent, not too complex but tasted wonderful. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I'd most certainly come back.

The location was great and the staff were attentive, even though most communication was virtual. Liked the easy self-check-in too.

The coffee station in the room was fine, so was the entire kitchen experience. Nice style for the room but not as nice looking as in the pictures. Check in was good. Nice location if that’s what you’re looking for

Woodstock is a cute little town, and I fell in love instantly. They are very dog friendly which to me was a huge plus. Mont Vert Cafe was the place to be, and was super crowded but very (as they say on their open/closed sign) awesome!!
I went in for a bottle of water, and came out with that and a chocolate chip brownie, which was to die for! Will definitely visit again.
Sadly, I didn't have a lot of time to explore, because I had to get on the road to get home, but I did make it a point to visit The Yankee Bookshop, which is a must see. It hade a "book" theme, meaning they sold novelties such as bookmarks that looked like an old library "due date" card. Younger gens may not get this, but us older folks will love it. :) In summary, it was a lot of fun to walk through.

Woodstock Inn has a lovely ambiance, great staff and the rooms are beautiful. You must make reservations for the hotel restaurants before you get there, even thought you cannot dine there if you are not staying at the Inn. I would ask if there is a wedding going on because the music is loud and impossible to get away from. It only went on until 10:00pm on Saturday but downtown closes at 6:00pm and there was no way to get away from the very loud music.

What I've always heard about Woodstock VT turned out to be true. It really is an outstandingly charming village. Picture perfect architecture, super dog-friendly, original art and craft shops and soothing, green commons amongst the hilly green backdrop of VT, kept me intoxicated for three days. I will return with my own art supplies after feeling inspired by other creatives, for a week of blissful enchantment. The most refreshing thing about Woodstock (and most of VT) was the lack of big box commercialism. One must also keep in mind that Woodstock is heavily funded by old wealth, which can afford to pay for upkeep of charm.

Woodstock has a lovely green with stately homes and buildings around it, plus shops and a covered bridge. Crowded during foliage season so visit another time to enjoy it. Mondays and Tuesdays most restaurants are closed. Try nearby Queeche for meals those days. Be sure to visit the Billings Farm and Museum. Take a tour of the Mansion and learn the history of the area.

Woodstock is a regular stop for us.
Woodstock is a regular stop for us. Beautiful town, very walkable but beware of lack of restaurants and restaurant closings. Many are closed two to three days a week and many close early. Plan uour meals! Otherwise always something happening in town. Billings farm and museum is great. VINS nature center, hiking Mt. Tom and Mt. Peg, skiing Saskadena Six and wandering through the boutiques and art galleries, great fun.
We had a wonderful stay in Woodstock with Cynthia and John. They have a gorgeous home with plenty of windows offering wonderful views of the countryside, only a short drive from the heart of Woodstock. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and sharing the bathroom with the other tenants was totally doable. A simple breakfast was served every morning which was an easy, nice way to start the day. If you're looking for cozy, affordable accommodation in one of America's prettiest towns, this is the place.
It was a very nice house outside of Woodstock with a great view of the surrounding hills. The host, Cynthia, was very welcoming and warm. She responded to messages and inquiries very quickly and she provided lists of restaurants and things to do in town. This was especially helpful because we stayed during Thanksgiving and many places were closed or had different hours.
The breakfast each morning was a great assortment and very filling. The bed was also very comfortable.
Breakfast was very good. Nice variety, I believe her name was Jessica, but I could be mistaken. (I have a hard time with names) the woman who worked at the Inn was very pleasant and friendly.
I love your choice of decor! Upon entering an old house, I did not expect a very contemporary design! It's a very cool concept, and I was pleasantly surprised.
Lastly, I really appreciate that the inn offered single rates, as opposed to double occupancy.
Very convenient yet peaceful location. Rooms were furnished and equipped to an exceptionally high standard which reflected excellent taste and vision for traditional style. An absolute gem. Breakfasts were imaginative, ample and superior to expected hotel fare. The innkeepers were helpful and proactive in satisfying guests’ needs. Jackson House sets the standard to which other establishments should strive to attain
Breakfast wasn’t offered. We ate next door at the South Woodstock Store, which is always good.
I liked staying in the adirondak unit behind the Inn for easy access from the car and no stairs. We loved Ransom Tavern. Excellent food and wait staff.
I liked not having to check in or out as we were given a code to our room. In fact we never saw any staff other than at the Tavern.
Our room was very comfortable and clean. My wife and I spent time looking around the hotel at all the beautiful decorations. The restaurant seemed like you stepped back in time to a beautiful location. The breakfast area was so comfortable and homelike! We took pictures of the bar area since it was so unique! Location is a beautiful setting on the river.
the Woodstock Inn is absolutely beautiful, and extremely well kept. The Inn is in pristine condition and every detail
of the room, the bathrooms, the restaurant, and sitting areas has been well maintained. Not to mention the
gorgeous activities center. (salt water swimming pool, steam and sauna)
would recommend highly, you won't go wrong!
Woodstock is such a beautiful town!
The Vesper was a beautiful home and I loved the architecture. Jessica, the inn keeper, was amazing! She made a delicious breakfast and her and I had some really nice conversations. I loved the decor and the whole vibe of the place. It was super clean and cozy. I’m definitely coming back here!
Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, beautiful old home, comfortable shared spaces to read and have a cup of tea. The gardens are especially pretty and a nice place to sit or stroll. The location is convenient to the shops in Woodstock but separate enough to feel private and quiet. It was a really lovely stay!
By far the beat part of the Inn are the owners. They are welcoming and kind. They are fun and talented. We also loved the room and amenities. One of the best parts is also the location. Just outside of the town so it’s quiet and close enough to walk to everything. We couldn’t have loved this more!
Heather and her team are just extremely lovely and helpful!
Her Hotel is full of beautiful historical items. Delightful!
The breakfast was awesome! As was the dinner.
Every Tuesday seems to be in summer a garden Jazz concert in their wonderful garden. We enjoyed our stay very much!
The outdoor areas are beautiful and well maintained and equipped. They provide outdoor games, seating and a fire pit. The view of the river is stunning. The hotel in well within walking distance to the shops and restaurants in Woodstock.
The Shire did not disappoint, fantastic hotel in a great location. The hotel is very welcoming and the staff were very friendly. The room was spacious and well equipped, with a lovely view.
The location of the hotel was beautiful. The facilities and rooms were also great. We ate in the restaurant on our second night and the food was lovely and staff both friendly and helpful.
Great location, good price, and very friendly owner/managers. Overall a great value not far from Woodstock. Next to a little dinner that does a solid breakfast.
There was a room available with a basic breakfast available. The facility was well located within Woodstock with a few restaurants near by. A rural area.
