Hout Bay has a large white sandy beach .. the ocean is fresh. There are many restaurants, shops and bars. Chapman’s Peak Drive is a must, an amazing scenic route to Noordhoek where Cape Point Wine Estate offers wine tasting and sushi or oyster pairings and picnics on the slopes looking over the ocean. There is also an amazing restaurant. If you drive the opposite way out of Hout Bay, you will discover the Constantia Wine Route with seven or eight beautiful wine estates offering food and wine tasting. Hout Bay is the perfect place to stay, it is charming , surrounded by mountains.
I thoroughly recommend Chapman’s Peak Hotel, a friendly, family run hotel with lovely staff and an old world feel. Breakfast. Is served on the terrace and I dined on prawns, calamari and fresh line fish of the day. The roof top pool is an added bonus! Great value for money.

Hout Bay is an incredibly scenic place with beautiful mountain cliffs coming down to the waters edge. The drive in over Chapman’s Peak was amazing despite the toll fee! We had a great stay at the Hout Bay Breeze accommodation and a beautiful meal at the Mariner’s Wharf restaurant.

Hout Bay is an amazing place.
Hout Bay is an amazing place. We keep returning there every time we visit the Cape. The main restaurant on the harbor disappointed me a little with very high prices, but Dunes restaurant blew us away with excellent food and wine. The views of mountain and the amazing beach are true treasures in Hout Bay

We liked being near a great wine region.
We liked being near a great wine region. The coastal and hillside scenery is magnificent. There is relatively easy access to Cape Town, especially Table Mountain, The Waterfront and Kirstenbosch Gardens. The Cape of Good Hope is within easy reach via Chapmans Peak Drive. We enjoyed our meals at Mariner's Wharf, Chapmans Peak Hotel and Cape Point Vineyards. We really enjoyed the walk to Sandy Bay from nearby Llandudno and the Seal Island boat trip from Hout Bay Wharf.

aniut hour drive from CT about the dmsame for simons Town. recommend hire a car uber few and far between in this area... Nice restaurants do not under any circumstances walk abiut in the park or quiet areas at night...
not ideal for shopping ...go to CT water front....some great outside shopping at the boukders beach where the penguins are...HB close to chapmans peak...a must see in the day if you are there.
The Superior King or Twin Room (the one with a sea and mountain view) provided a pleasent experience. The view, showcasing Chapman's Peak from Hout Bay, was amazing and could be enjoyed right from the bed. The staff were exceptionally cordial and kind, adding to the pleasant stay. While the quiet hours might be important to note before booking, they didn't pose an issue for us. The cleanliness and comfort of the place were great, and the pictures accurately depicted reality, making them reliable for future guests to rely on.
We had wonderful holidays in Manor and really enjoyed the stay. Initially we booked a room for 2 x nights but ended up staying 5 x nights.
The hotel is just great: interior is beautiful and authentic (my recommendation is Zulu room), lovely lobby and outstanding restaurant serving breakfasts, lunch and dinner. Food quality is fantastic and prices are good.
I would like to highlight the staff that was just great and helpful, especially the waiters in the restaurant!
We would definitely like to come back one day!
Great location in the sand dunes by Hout Bay, large secure parking area with a remote for the electric gates. The views over the bay are superb. Staff were helpful and accommodating. The room was great for us, plenty of space with a fridge and lots of storage space, and an outside shared balcony. Very close to the Friday night market in Hout Bay. There was a handy second kitchen next to our room meaning we didn't need to use the main kitchen at all. Good big bathroom as well.
The location and area are wonderful, it was a bit of a distance traveling to Cape town, but if you like peace of mind then the accommodation is perfect. It is standard cozy size room, that will be fine for just two people. The sleep in the bed was really comfortable and clean. The TV is quite small, and only has DSTV which is outdated. The breakfast was fine, with not much of a variety each day.
I must say I had the most wonderful stay at the Poseidon Guest House, Danie and Janni (the hosts) are lovely. I immediately felt at home. Their property is stunning, the views are breathtaking, their attention to detail is unmatched and the breakfast is second to none. Thank you so much for making my final days in South Africa so memorable. I will be back soon! - Love Tony
A bit up the hill in Hout Bay which is a perfect and lovely spot to explore Cape Town and its surroundings. We and our kids loved the Tarragon, staying for 4 nights, fantastic view, very spacious and immaculate rooms, tastefully decorated, we were stunned. Nice pool, excellent and funny hosts, we felt so lucky ending up at the Tarragon. We'll be back.
The highlight of this property is the staff. The staff is always very very friendly and willing to help. No matter what or when, you will be assisted in the very best possible way. Also the view you get from Hout Bay is simply indescribable. Parking is available in front of the property, free of charge. The rooms were well decorated and well cleaned.
Was very comfortable. Had everything you needed. Lovely soap in the shower. A whole lot of treats in the fridge, fruit, cereal, tea, coffee, instant and filter. Really amazing. Thank you. Most unexpected. Very friendly hosts. Would recommend this as a great self catering stay in Hout Bay.
Definitely the best view in Hout Bay. The room was spacious, clean and modern. We loved the big shower and the variety of streaming apps on the T.V. There was also an exceptional breakfast included in the room rate. We would visit again without a doubt.
A gem of a place to stay - hidden away on a residential street, wonderful views, beautifully furnished. Sue and Martin are lovely hosts - kind, warm and full of good tips. We loved being in Hout Bay, it felt liked an oasis after a day in the city.
Really enjoyed our stay in hout bay people really helpful weather glorious and views just wow appartmant was clean and tidy and cosy with shops close by and easy to get ubers to wherever you want to go wanting to go back and miss the sunshine
Super friendly and helpful hosts and staff. The views were gorgeous and the breakfast was incredible. All in all a beautiful and romantic place to stay in Hout Bay. We also loved the self-serving bar along with the salt water pools!
I experienced pure happiness and relaxation; Maggie, the exceptional hotel manager, leads a team of genuinely kind and caring staff, making everything perfect.
