We particularly liked the paradisiacal jungle river, where you can also swim. The hosts are incredibly helpful and nice and make a great breakfast and dinner for their guests in the open-air kitchen. We felt very comfortable there.

What an absolutely amazing place, out of all our travels this might be our all-time favorite. The cabins are lovely and the view in the morning is amazing. The entire location is just gorgeous. I was pleasantly surprised by the bathroom and the showers, the water was always warm and relatively insect-free. In fact, there aren't many bugs there at all. The food was quite good, it's mostly the typical Costa Rican food but I'm sure if you ask, they could make something else for you. It's a fantastic place for birdwatching, whether you are a serious birder or not. Some normally pretty rare birds are easily found there. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and the birds. You can go on a free coffee tour if you're staying there. We also had a lot of fun walking the trails and often tagged along with the birding tour that takes place every morning. However, you can also spend all days sitting in the little restaurant area and watch the hummingbirds, toucans, aracaris, tanagers and other birds at the feeders.

The concierge is most gracious and accommodating. One evening, when I was having difficulty accessing tv channels, he came within the hour to assist me, and provided me a link to the national park reservation service. The entire place was always clean. The swimming pool is relatively big and a big plus in Manuel Antonio.
