Very Nice property. Safe residential neighborhood, Spacious. Not far from the centre of Edinburgh, 17 minutes by car, £18 taxi fare but it was worth it to have quite a nice sleep instead of staying in a noisy town Nice bathroom and shower. Quiet location if not a bit isolated but makes for a very peaceful sleep. It's literally across the road from the pub and big chinse restaurant where the food was excellent. WiFi works fine. The host was very helpful

The 'Castle Gogar Cottage' is attached to Gogar Castle - and the hosts' home - and is located at the end of a picturesque driveway just off the main Glasgow Road, Edinburgh. As such it is a short drive to a host of local attractions, quality restaurants, bars, golf courses and sports venues. Despite having Edinburgh Airport as our immediate neighbour we were never disturbed by any of the aircraft operations. The quality of The Cottage's furnishings is exceptionally high and the presentation was of the highest standard. The Cottage is superbly well appointed with quality fitments, bedlinen, towelling and the like. The bedroom suites, bathroom and lounge are all wonderfully comfortable, well heated and delightfully cosy. The kitchen was very spacious and, again, extremely well appointed. Our host, Donna, welcomed us on arrival and quickly explained the layout and the attractions of the property. Donna was warm, engaging and considerate and her attention to the guests’ needs is flawless. Communications were speedy and helpful. The rain deterred us from using the outdoor patio but The Cottage's indoor facilities more than compensated for the dreary weather. We look forward to making a return visit as soon as we can and would highly recommend 'Castle Gogar Cottage' to all discerning visitors to Edinburgh.

Every day it is special breakfast in a Georgian setting dining room. The hotelrooms are cozy and romantic by design, quiet and spacious. The location was an absolute pre, away from the massive tourisme and the busline(s) will take you every 5 minutes into town. The ride into Old town will take you only 8 minutes, in heavy traffic, from the busstop in front of the hotel. When we made requests they were handled efficiently. The location is good, right outside there's a bus stop, with bus services that take you straight to the city centre. The food was really good. We didn't have breakfast but we did have room service, twice. The steam room wasn't working when we were there unfortunately, but the sauna was and that was great! Went in the pool too. Very easy to access the facilities.

You feel and see the love that Lydie put into the house from the moment you step foot into the door. The room was spacious and cozy, the bed very comfortable. Also, the location of the house is great since it‘s walking distance to the center of town, surrounded by many cafés and shops but hidden away in a residential area. All in all: The perfect place to relax and get a good night’s sleep after a busy day in town.
