Excellent location, fantastic house. Convenient to everything you want or could need. James, the owner, goes above and beyond to help you enjoy your stay at the house and time in kyoto. His guidebook on what buses to take to attractions was incredibly helpful, and the wall map to show what attraction is in which direction. The 3 bedrooms upstairs allowed our family of 5 to have space, and the upstairs and downstairs toilet was very helpful. The house is located from the west exit at kyoto station, near JR office and trains.

Amazing location and incredibly accommodating hosts. Unlike other big hotels you really get a sense that everyone there cares and wants to ensure the enjoyment of your stay. We were travelling with a 10 month old and they ensured we had everything we needed. The location cannot be beat right in the heart of Gion, we found ourselves not worrying about the crowds since we were right in the centre of the action and could explore the area whenever we wanted.

The staff at check-in was super kind. He showed us the whole property and walked us through how to operate each machine. The house is hidden behind the alley which then give the feeling of old town in the center of Kyoto. Love the outdoor hot tub! Very nice Japanese experience in cold autumn night :)

The couple that run the space are super sweet and accommodating- we were traveling with our 5 month old and they made the stay very comfortable for us. The location is great to explore the bamboo forest nearby and they gave us lots of great tips to see and eat in the area. The space itself also has loads of cute details and the amenities are very clean and new.

Quiet peaceful side of Kyoto, not too far from the station. 10 min JR from Arishiyama. The host was exceptionally hospitable, even booking us a taxi to a popular local Yakatori-ya that we thoroughly enjoyed. The experience as a whole has been one of, if not our favorite times in Japan on our holiday so far. We wish we could have stayed longer!
