Great stay at Cocomock House; very homely, clean, spacious, friendliest owners, quiet and stunning location in the mountains. The best part of my stay: the food!! Probably the best I've had in Japan. Big portions to fuel up before or after your trek in Kamikochi. The owners help you with all your questions.

Shirakawa-Go INN ligger i Shirakawa, 150 m fra Shirakawago, og tilbyder indkvartering med fælles opholdsstue og gratis privat parkering. Clean and modern facility. Owner was clear and friendly. It is a Guest Inn, aka a Hostel, so expect accordingly. I feel it is a bit unfair that other reviews complain about gaps to a Hotel service, it is not a Hotel. Rooms are private but bathrooms and kitchen are shared. Showers were great and super clean. The kitchen area was well equipped and there were a few items for sale like instant noodles, chips and water. As it is not located in Shirakawa-go (where you go sightseeing as a tourist) the Inn offers a shuttle to Shirakawa-Go bus stop. This was really good! Without big luggage you could also walk there in 25 minutes.

Perfectly accessible via public transport while practically neighbouring Hida Folk Village.

Hostel Miyagawa by Murasaki Ryokan har fælles opholdsstue og ligger i centrum af Takayama, mindre end 1 km fra Takayama Station. Staff was excellent, in particular Daniel was kind, welcoming and friendly.

Vandrehjemmet Natural Onsen Hostel Hidamari no Yu ligger i Takayama og har rummelige varme kilder mod tillægsgebyr. Der tilbydes gratis afhentning fra JR Takayama Station, 10 minutters kørsel derfra. The place is really good, and the onsen is very nice, The staff is very nice and helpful, There is not a close bus station but they provide shuttle to takayama station, We really enjoyed our stay!
