Great stay at Cocomock House; very homely, clean, spacious, friendliest owners, quiet and stunning location in the mountains. The best part of my stay: the food!! Probably the best I've had in Japan. Big portions to fuel up before or after your trek in Kamikochi. The owners help you with all your questions.

Set in Shirakawa, 150 metres from Shirakawago, GuestHouse Shirakawa-Go INN offers accommodation with a shared lounge and free private parking. Clean and modern facility. Owner was clear and friendly. It is a Guest Inn, aka a Hostel, so expect accordingly. I feel it is a bit unfair that other reviews complain about gaps to a Hotel service, it is not a Hotel. Rooms are private but bathrooms and kitchen are shared. Showers were great and super clean. The kitchen area was well equipped and there were a few items for sale like instant noodles, chips and water. As it is not located in Shirakawa-go (where you go sightseeing as a tourist) the Inn offers a shuttle to Shirakawa-Go bus stop. This was really good! Without big luggage you could also walk there in 25 minutes.

Only a 2-minute walk from JR Takayama Station, K's House Takayama Oasis offers free WiFi throughout the property. the location was great and the staff was very helpful and friendly!

Sakura Guest House is a 10-minute walk from Hida Takayama-mura Folk Village, and offers private and dormitory rooms with free Wi-Fi and shared bathrooms. Great view with incredibly helpful staff. The local vibe perfectly matches Takayama's friendliness and hospitality. Perfectly accessible via public transport while practically neighbouring Hida Folk Village.

Hostel Miyagawa by Murasaki Ryokan ligger i centrala Takayama och erbjuder boende med en gemensam lounge. Staff was excellent, in particular Daniel was kind, welcoming and friendly.

Vandrarhemmet Natural Onsen Hostel Hidamari no Yu ligger i Takayama och erbjuder rymliga bad med varmt källvatten mot en avgift. The place is really good, and the onsen is very nice, The staff is very nice and helpful, There is not a close bus station but they provide shuttle to takayama station, We really enjoyed our stay!

Tomato Takayama Station ligger i Takayama, 2,1 km från Hida Minzoku Mura museiby, och erbjuder utsikt över staden. Everything was good. Nothing amazing, but no disappointments.
