She also has a college business degree in Leadership & Management from the Faroese Business School specialising in communications. The idea of visitHOMES Faroe Islands is based on her experiences as a traveller in several European countries and her work as a hotel receptionist in the Faroe Islands. Her ideas have successfully been put into practice. All hosts are selected with care and are regularly reviewed to make sure standards and services are of the highest standard. We focus on sustainability at all levels. The ethos of visitHOMES Faroe Islands is to enable guests to have a unique experience of a home environment close to the people and culture. We, therefore, encourage all guests to feel free to tell us the purpose of their journey, because the more information we obtain, the better we are able to help guests enjoy a most wonderful experience. It has been a family home for generations. The pictures from the guest room show the chair that belonged to my great-grandfather and the sink that previously was my great-grandma's kitchen bowl. For dinner we offer fresh steamed cod with homemade lemon sauce, served with potatoes and fresh vegetables.

We offer homemade desserts, rhubarb trifle or rhubarb ice cream with tea or coffee.

Fresh Faroes water is served with all meals.

We are open one day a week, on Tuesdays.

Start time 18:00.

The reservation must be made no later than one day before.

You are welcome to contact us if you want to book a table for another day in the week.

Minimum: 2 persons.

Children up to 3 years of age are free of charge.

Children between 4 to 12 years old pay half price.

My name is Lilja Víká and I live at Áargarður 10 in Leirvik, in an old cozy neighbourhood. It is situated on the way to the memorial.

At “Heimablídni” our star meal is cod, fished from the main northern fishing ground, “Norðhavið”, not far from where I live.
