Located in Mirissa in the Matara District region, Bird House Mirissa features a balcony and garden views. This recently renovated guest house is located 600 metres from Mirissa Beach and 800 metres from Weligambay Beach. The guest house also provides free WiFi as well as a paid airport shuttle service. Towels and bed linen are provided in the guest house. Guests can enjoy a meal at the on-site traditional restaurant, which serves local cuisine and also offers vegetarian, vegan and dairy-free options. Bird House Mirissa is an unique tree house tucked away from the busy streets of Mirissa, but yet a walking distance to the stunning beaches and the fishing harbour. Bird House is a place where you can get a homestay feeling and be part of the authentic local life in a calm and friendly neighbourhood. The tree house is surrounded by trees that attracts birds like the beautiful peacocks and other wildlife, like monkeys and you'll get to experience this right from the balcony. The rustic & homey feel of Bird House and the friendly family hosts that will share all the best tips of Mirissa and help you make your travel experience easier, will be a special experience in the tourist hot spot of Sri Lanka. Also, Ishan's mom cooks delicious Sri Lankan traditional food, which you don't want to miss out on! A friendly reminder to our dear coming guests: the natural tree house can have occasional small visitors in forms of unharmful frogs, gekkos and bugs entering the room. This is just part of the experience of the tropical island life, so stay calm and if they bother too much, Ishan or his family are happy to help to remove them out from the room. Don't hesitate your booking with us for too long, since we have only one room and gets quickly booked! :)
Hey we're Ishan & Jenny and we'll be your hosts at Bird House Mirissa! Me, Ishan, born & raised in Mirissa (on the property where Bird House now excists) have worked with tourism for over 10years. Bird House was built by my father and it was my dream come true in 2020 to start full time managing Bird House, that I do nowadays together with my Finnish wife Jenny and my family who lives at the property and helps along when needed. We both love nature, animals and a simple life with an positive mindset and this is the feeling that we want to bring with Bird House to our guests as well. We enjoy so much to meet likeminded guests all around the world and share stories and thoughts, but we also respect travellers who wants to stay to their own. We're all different, and luckily so! ;) We always do our best that you'll have a comfortable stay at Bird House and we're happy to help wether it's with a taxi, to book a tour or give any recommendations what to do in Mirissa and nearby villages.
