The hosts are very kind and full of useful information. The rooms are clean, tidy and comfortable. The hotel restaurant is located in a very nice area and offers delicious traditional Albanian dishes.

Hotel Klea is in the Castle of Berat, just 40 meters from the main gate. Set in a traditional house, it offers free WiFi access in public areas and a 24-hour front desk, a garden and a terrace. It's a great location just inside the castle gate and surprisingly quiet. Lovely staff, cracking breakfast and really good diner; Katherine loved the homemade ice cream especially. Spotless room and very comfy beds; albeit they are very short, suitable for baby bears but not anyone over six feet tall. Loved Berat itself, so dramatic, living in history if only for a few days
