Located on a hillside, 4 km from Golling an der Salzach, Stallerhof offers modern rooms with wooden furniture. Free schnapps tastings are provided in the on-site distillery. I loved spending some days at Stallerhof. Everything was perfect, super comfortable, amaziiiiing breakfast, stunning view. Monika was super welcoming and nice! I’m already planning to return there soon.

Located in the centre of Kuchl, the garni hotel Wagnermigl is right on the Tauernradweg (bicycle trail) and 20 km south of Salzburg. The garden includes a sun terrace and a children’s playground. The rave reviews on this place are fully justified - the hotel is truly exceptional in every respect. Kuchl is a small, but very attractive village about 20 minutes by local train from the Salzburg HBF. I had been cross country skiing there many years ago, and when finding many hotels in Salzburg fully booked or over-priced, we decided to go to Kuchl, and I was impressed by the great reviews on Booking.com, and the hotel turned out to be even better than expected! A hotel of comparable quality in Salzburg would cost at least 5-times as much (and maybe even more). The hotel is attractive in the style of an Austrian village, and although in the valley of the Salzach River, it has amazing views of the high Alps that separate Austria and Germany. Ther are numerous opportunities for hikes in the region, from short easy walks to serious mountain climbing. However, the best thing about the hotel was the warm, welcoming, friendly staff who provide personal attention. Even though the hotel was not crowded, they provided a full, delicious Austrian breakfast with more options than even the most famous hotels in Austria. They recommended a great restaurant for dinner, which serves both excellent Austrian and Balkan cuisine. The room was reasonably spacious and well equipped, with a nice balcony overlooking the Alps. Furthermore, the hotel is a one minute walk from the train station, with local trains to and from Salzburg leaving every 30 minutes. Except for a few central hotels in Salzburg, it was almost as quick to get to the sites in this city as it is from many hotels in town. I have been to Austria many times, and the Wagnermigl and the town of Kuchl represent the best of traditional Austrian life and local color. I recommend it most enthusiastically!

This was our favorite hotel across a 10-day holiday. The hotel is on a farm compound. Our children loved seeing the pigs, cows, goats, and other animals up close. We wished we had satiated another day! The hotel is new and comfortable. You feel like a guest at a nice home. The restaurant is exceptional. Would definitely recommend it. Everyone’s meal was exceptional, from the chicken nuggets for our youngest to the excellent jalapeño steak.

Located in the centre of Russbach, Hotel Kerschbaumer is just 400 metres from the cable car into the Dachstein-West Ski Area. It features a sauna and a fossil exhibition. Clean rooms, very welcoming staff and they have a good restaurant with traditional food.

Just 15 km from Salzburg, NEUWIRT - Boutiquehotel & Wirtshaus is located in the spa town of Bad Vigaun, just off the A10 motorway. It offers free Wi-Fi and a traditional Austrian restaurant. The location is amazing!!! Bad Vigaun is an amazing place to stay in and have a great morning walk/jog or workout. The view from the room is breathtaking, you won't want to leave. The hotel design is unique, very elegant and luxurious. We stayed at the junior suite, it is big, has a great balcony to sit in and just enjoy the view. The staff a so helpful and welcoming. I like the close parking spaces just to go through the check-in process, though the regular parking lot is a few steps from the reception. Highly recommended!!

Dating from 1592, this traditional hotel is located in the pedestrian zone of Abtenau, 500 metres from the ski area. The Goldener Stern offers rooms with free WiFi access and free parking. We have stayed here for 4 nights, it was wonderful stay! Food, rooms, staff... everything was perfect. We enyojed it a lot. Hopefully we will visit this hotel again.

Only a 10-minute walk away from the centre of Abtenau, this hotel and restaurant is right next to the valley station of the Karkogel cable car. - Overall very nice stay in a pleasant family-run hotel - The location is perfect and the service and staff are excellent - Funtivities nearby (Minigolf, Summer Mountain Railways) - Abtenau center in walking distance - The design and furnishing are not too modern or contemporary, but it goes well with the location and nature of the property - Good breakfast - Good restaurant

In a quiet location in the centre of the picturesque town of Abtenau, this family-run 4-star superior hotel offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, an extensive leisure and fitness area,... View over the surrounding mountains, big and comfortable room, very clean. Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff. Nice swimming pool, sauna and spa area. We'll definitely come back for a longer stay.

Set in Annaberg im Lammertal, 40 km from Eisriesenwelt Werfen, Winterstellgut offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. Breakfast was excellent, property and sorrounding was very clean and well-kept.
