Boasting rooms with ocean or city views, Coast Bastion Hotel in Nanaimo city centre is 2 minutes’ walk to shops and restaurants on Harbourfront Walkway. A restaurant is located on site. The hotel staff were friendly and made you feel at home. Loved our room very clean and had great view of the harbour. Would definitely return!

This downtown Nanaimo hotel overlooks the Inner Harbour and is across the street from the Seaplane Terminal. The hotel offers free WiFi and free parking. Take a room with a view of the harbour - it's beautiful. The staff are very helpful. Although the car park looks small at first, the hotel also uses the one next to it and you can also park in the public car park if these are full and the hotel will refund the cost. The restaurant serves excellent food. Being 90 minutes from Victoria and about the same to Campbell River and having a ferry to Vancouver and the sea planes on the doorstep, it's well positioned for exploring the island.

Welcoming reception even though I arrived few hours before check in official. Allowed to go to my room as bed was ready. Also changed room on request to a larger room. Exactly what we were looking for. A nice, clean, comfortable room located near downtown and the harbor for a reasonable price with parking. A few semi-related tips. Neck Point Park is about 15-20 mins away with incredible views of the ocean and potential to spot marine life (we just missed a pod of orcas). Also the Save on Food in the Nanaimo suburb was the best grocery store we visited in the island/Vancouver/Calgary if you are cooking your own meals.

Campbell Cottage B&B is located in the Old City Quarter of Nanaimo. Free WiFi access is available. Breakfast was outstanding! I enjoyed a lot. The owner was very friendly. The bed in the room was excellent. Welcome chocolates and candies were very lovely. The bathroom for the guest was probably recently rennovated and it was very clean. I was told to use another room for study other than a bedroom, which helped me to work.
