Set in the Piedras Blancas National Park, Dolphin Quest Costa Rica provides accommodation with access to a garden. Some units have a balcony and/or a patio with sea or river views. Incredible location, and great combination of both forest and marine in one place. Beautiful tropical gardens on the property complete with macaws and monkeys, and great guided excursions into rainforest, mangrove, and marine habitats. You are staying in a jungle so be prepared re: bugs, temperature and humidity. As a solo traveller it was super welcoming and friendly, and you feel at home quite quickly. As well as the activities it was also great just to chill out around the gardens or by the beach, or to just take a kayak and explore. The food was also amazing and a highlight for me, lots of fruit and veg grown on site, fresh fish if it was caught that day etc.

Featuring a natural swimming pool and an extensive tropical garden, this eco-lodge is set in the rainforest just 2 km from La Gamba Village, on the edge of Piedras Blancas National Park. What a spectacular property. A bird watchers paradise. The cabins are rustic but clean no ac. The highlight are the personable and skilled naturalists who lead the tours. We enjoyed a mangrove tour, bird watching walks and a forest night walk all excellent. Being adjacent to a national park there is also abundant wildlife. The pool and lounge areas are lovely.
