The BEST hotel manager you can ever meet! Hassan is an incredible person who genuinely cares about his guests and tries to make them happy in every possible way. This is a kind of place where you artive as a guest and leave as a friend. Hassan's commitment to his guests is truly inspiring. He is always available for any questions and advice, and yet is always diplomatic and soft-spoken. Hassan also has a great sense of humour and talking with him is always a delight, in addition - his English language skills are fantastic. The hotel is located near the ferry dock and sees quite a bit of traffic - you are going to experience a real part of Luxor. It is a great place to stay for independent travellers who are looking for an authentic experience without tourist crowds. The rooms are basic, but super clean and very spacious, the linen and towels are all clean and fresh; the beds, pillows and blankets are very comfortable as well. You also have a very kind employee Mohammed to look after you - he is always helpful, attentive, and does a great job keeping everything clean and safe. The price for this place is also excellent. The hotel has a large rooftop terrace for sweeping views over the Nile. This is also where a lunch bufet is available frim 11a.m. to 3 p.m. We tried the food there, and were also very happy with the selection, price, and attitude. Yes, we were VERY happy with this hotel team, and could HIGHLY RECOMMEND it to those travellers who appreciate a genuine local hospitality!

Jewel of the Valley Howard Carter Guest House "Howard Carter Guest House" ligger i Luxor og tilbyder luksuriøs indkvartering. The location is wonderfully peaceful. We had a room with a balcony looking out over the fields to the Nile - a great respite. The food is wonderful - and especially enjoyed when served outside or on the balcony off the dining area. The entire staff could not have been more friendly. They are able to arrange all tours/transportation/activities but there is no pressure to book through them. Communication and follow-up was great. The quiet location was perfect for us; there may be some extra cost involved in transportation from the ferry when heading to the other side of the Nile but well worth it in our opinion. We'd recommend a multi-night stay to allow for both thorough explanation of the area and relaxation in a beautiful spot.

The staff was incredibly welcoming, warm and attentive. the food was absolutely delicious and all prepared at home. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the space was in a rural area amongst cabbage farms and green fields. They have a nice terrace with sweeping views of the fields, mountains behind the Valley of the Kings and around the corner of the Habu temple and very close to the Colossus of Menon.

Staff are very helpful and friendly and even though committed 24/7, they all provide a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Free transfer by boat between the hotel and downtown Luxor is available around the clock upon call. The little restaurant offers a variety of tasty homemade food — a great breakfast, snacks for lunch and a diverse selection of dishes for dinner. All meals combine elements of the Egyptian and Western cuisine. Drinks (water, soft drinks, beer and a small selection of Egyptian wines) are also available, a specialty is the Turkish style coffee. The hotel offers a small pool perfectly suitable for a quick refreshment. Upon request, bicycles are available for rent, and the famous sights of the area (valley of the kings, valley of the queens, Hatshepsut temple - each approximately 8 km away one way) can be explored easily by bicycle! I lived for four years in Egypt, but this hotel was by far the nicest I ever had!
