On the last floor there is a common room with a small kitchen, dining table, fire place and reading space. There is also a terrace with an amazing view where one can have breakfast or simply relax at any time. Antonio and his family are very kind and helpful. The place is a real jam in the middle of Capileira with a wonderful personal touch. An extra is that it is a family run little hotel, so you can contribute to supporting the local business by staying at their place.

A beautiful home from home in a rural village. Big bedroom, comfortable bed, plenty of hot water, great food. But best of all is Ramon the host. Such a generous and helpful man. Shared lots of history with me and facts about local life. He washed my clothes for free and looked after me when I was sick. Such an angel. He also arranged a taxi for me to Almería when I was too ill to cycle there. You must visit this amazing place and have a wonderful conversation with Ramon. Nothing is too much trouble for him. He recommended a lovely restaurant for a great lunch.

We spent three nights at the end of our three weeks in Spain and would have been happy to stay longer. Mother and daughter, Paula and Megan, are wonderful hosts and a delight to get to know. Make sure to plan for dinner and breakfast there as Megan is an outstanding chef. Our meals were fresh, creative, and so attentively prepared, the best we had on her entire trip. The hotel has super comfy beds and spectacular views and is easy to find with parking on site. Berchules was a charming village to explore and we loved the 25-minute walk down to the river with a place to picnic, read, or wade in the water. We highly recommend this hotel. On a side note, the drive to Berchules is an epic drive on a comfortably winding 2 lane road. Plan to give yourself plenty of time to savor the views and photo opportunities.
