Chateau de Monrecour is located in Périgord Noir region, in the heart of the Dordogne Valley. It offers two heated swimming pools, a large south-facing terrace and a gourmet-style restaurant. Beautiful grounds and buildings, large and comfortable room, gorgeous modern bathroom, excellent service, convenient location. The bed was perfect. There is an excellent restaurant, as well as breakfast with many choices and helpful service. Staff told us about the conveniently located (and free) spotless laundry facilities, helpful after a week on the road. Wish we would have stayed longer at this hotel.

Very hospitable and kind owners, who did everything they could to ensure you had a pleasant stay. Food in the restaurant was delicious, besides a la carte, every morning a menu du jour was presented, in which adjustments could be made, if you did not liked certain courses.

Don't expect a 5 star hotel but rather a wonderful couple who welcome you and make sure you are happy and comfortable and extremely well fed and looked after.
