Cottenham
the property is located in the older part of a typical Cambridgeshire village, with off street parking in a gated walled private area. It is a few minutes drive from either Cambridge itself, or the trunk road network. There is adequate shopping in the village for everyday supplies. The enclosed garden area is particularly useful when you are accompanied by dogs.
Regular returning guests. The Griffin is not a "plastic" style hotel. It is a wonderful old probably 17c. Inn & Ale House with rooms and entertainment at weekends, which may not be to everyone's liking. The addition of ear plugs (if req.) is a caring touch. Well stocked bar and outside tables in this bustling N. Cambridgeshire town centre.
Location of hotel was good, plenty to see and a good central base to be able to sight see around Cambridgeshire. Accommodation was very clean with easy accessibility and staff very pleasant and helpful, we would certainly revisit. We believe very good value for the money and everything went like clockwork.
Waterbeach
Very good facilities in comfortable and exceptionally clean rooms with tasteful decor and a nice personalised feel compared to often sterile hotels. Plenty of parking so a very easy stay indeed and well located to visit friends in the Cambridgeshire countryside.
Fen Drayton
Lovely private apartment in quiet village in Cambridgeshire. Host really helpful and friendly - he brought us fab cooked breakfast in morning too! Would definitely go back!
Been before as the location is convenient to family who live nearby. The river is nice and its close to Ely and Cambridgeshire. The staff
Location was good a nice country pub next to the river with the reputation of being the most haunted pub in Cambridgeshire
Everything was very good Room 103 was nice and spacious , nice bed linen, great shower Lovely evening meal in Haycock Kitchen, delicious bottle of French Pinot Noir Breakfast - full English was excellent as was the flat white and toast Would most definitely stay again Thank you to all the staff
Size and modernity of the accommodation. Large airy room. Excellent facilities. Very friendly staff.
Everything was great. The staff were helpful and the location was second to none. They made fresh cookies everyday and had water in the room.
This is the best hotel and I strongly recommend the tourist to try once there. Receptionist lady very friendly and supportive
Everything is very good.I like it so much.
The staff is very friendly and helpful from check in to check out. The gym with access to sauna and jacuzzi is far better than your average 'hotel gym' that you see at so many hotel chains, to include two Peloton bikes. The rooftop bar is an excellent place to enjoy a drink with very friendly servers. Valet parking is required due to the location, and they are very proactive on bringing your car when scheduled. This will be my must stay location in Cambridge from now on.
It was an amazing experience for us to stay in a manor house like this in the English countryside for a reasonable price. Wandering the house to our room gave us this 'Countryhouse Mystery' / 'Agatha Christie' feel that we were looking for, for a long time :) The room was sparkling clear, comfy and nicely decorated. The location didn't offer breakfast, but had recommendations, and we choose to go to have breakfast to the nearby (by car) Madingley Hall which is another gorgeous House used by the University. I highly recommend to stay in Rectory farm, for more tan one night if possible.
location, comfort, cleanliness
Really comfortable bed, clean room, lovely staff and delicious breakfast in bed!
In some ways the property was great and even exceeded our expectations. The setting was lovely, and the property turned out to be a cosy, A-frame lodge. There were wonderful walks everywhere around, and lots of excellent extras inside, like a PS3 for the kids and interesting books on the shelf, not to mention toiletries, slippers and cleaning materials. Also, our dog was warmly welcomed and thrilled with the walk potential.
