I loved staying in such a historical place and sadly I was not able to explore the grounds that much as it was raining a bit. The room service was amazing and the breakfast options are superb. I was also struggling to book some taxis for some events I would have and I asked the staff before my check in and in less than 1 hour I received the confirmation of the rides and they were super on time.

Secret hideaway. Loved the rural atmosphere with horses in the field behind and the lovely little pond in front. The space was clean, comfortable and hi tech. Loved the hot tub that was ready to enjoy when we arrived. It was a quiet peaceful night of sleep.

Set 1.1 km from Butterfly & Insect World, Glenarch House is in Dalkeith and features a garden and a terrace. The accommodation is 2.1 km from the Dalkeith Country Park. It was more than we ever expected … gorgeous property & accomodation . Very comfortable . A quiet retreat if you want to just relax & reflect . Close to Edinburgh ( 20 minute train ride ) for a day trip from Glenarch House . Would recommend the train to Waverley station in Edinburgh . It’s a self catering property , so will need to work out meals for yourselves . Morrisons ( a supermarket) is relatively close for grocery shopping .

The location was brilliant as we were going to a wedding at the castle. The pottery was so cosy and ticked all the boxes, both of the owners were so welcoming and attentive. We even got lucky with the chickens and had fresh eggs! We will definitely be returning. 5*****

Modern interior with traditional furnishings, The location was great just a 30min drive to Edinburgh centre which makes a nice distance to have a city trip but with a relaxed country stay. Would highly recommend!
