Nearby Reykjavik, but real close to the beginning of the golden ring. Not so much light, so I think Auroras could be easily seen (though I didn´t have the chance) Good breakfast included. This Viking-themed hotel is located at the harbour in the seaside town of Hafnarfjordur. Humpback whales can sometimes be spotted in the harbour during winter. The Viking Hotel is one of the best places to stay near Reykjavik if you want a decent price and an amazing hotel stay. The whole atmosphere of the hotel is made in the style of the Viking era, very original and wonderful, felt like being back in time! The check-in was effortless and the staff at the reception were just amazing, super helpful, and always ready to answer any questions we would have. We enjoyed our breakfast, which was super tasty and with a great deal of variety of foods, both international and local. The hotel also had a hot tub and sauna, which I had the chance to use once during our weekend there. Also, there is free parking next door, super practical and needed when traveling with a car! The town was amazing too, and the proximity to Reykjavik was equally amazing! All in all, it was a great stay and we recommend this hotel to anyone exploring the area around Reykjavik and the Golden Circle!

Álftanes'te, Reykjavík'in merkezine arabayla 15 dakikalık mesafede yer alan Eyvindarholt Guesthouse, ücretsiz Wi-Fi erişimine ve doğal manzaralara sahip aydınlık ve modern konaklama birimlerinin yanı... Absolutely beautiful location with views over the fields and sea , lots of birds (geese, ravens, oystercatchers etc) to observe from the window. Bright and super cosy. The beads were very comfortable. Everything was also spotlessly clean. We had a little kitchen that we didn’t end up using simply because we were out all day and returned late or ate out, but you could easily cook as simple meal yourself. Supermarket 8 minutes drive away is open 24/7. Bit outside of Reykjavik but I prefer quieter areas and this was perfect. The best was the homemade breaking Áslaug every morning with freshly baked break, cakes, fruits, eggs, jam, juice. Have never stayed in any hotel or BnB with breakfast that good. Áslaug was super friendly and kind and nothing was too much bother. We had to leave very early to get our flight so she left us some breakfast the evening before.

Amazing views, comfort, supplied local food, the heated floors and towel rack are the only heat source and we were never cold inside this lovely cabin! Oh and the just installed barrel sauna with a window overlooking the lake and mountains! The horses across the road that would stare at us as we walked to our car in the morning, and make the best horse noices!
