In April, we woke to the sound of a cuckoo and the magic of mist-enshrouded mountains and were then treated to an exceptional breakfast of so many homemade cakes and cheeses, yogurts and fruits, perfect cappuccino, muesli and other delights that we might have spent the day in the dining room rather than heading off on our journey! The charming sisters Alicia, the chef, and Nathalie, the hotelier, as well their parents are committed to an idea of hospitality that is so genuine and rare these days, evident in their attentiveness, cordiality, and cheerfulness as well as in the spotless rooms, the well-trained staff, and in their willingness to help plan a memorable stay in the Aosta Valley. Such is their genuine kindness and good humor that when we departed we felt as if we were more than guests and were saying goodbye to beloved family members. We had thought of staying at a large hotel in Courmayeur with a spa and I believe a Michelin star, but we were all so happy with our choice, knowing that what we received was a unique experience, a treasured, star-studded highlight of our trip to Italy.

Set in the historic centre of Aosta, Hotel Duca d’Aosta offers accommodation with free WiFi, just 1 km from the Pila cable car. Very kind staff who were patient enough to let us try some basic Italian and skilled enough to switch to other languages (dankeschön). We were provided a wonderful room with view on the square. The parking space nearby was spacious (except for the narrow entrance which could be awkward for some as reported in other comments). The town is very cosy and lively and the setting in the valley is beautiful.

Bardzo dobra lokalizacja - bliziutko głównego deptaku, a jednak w cichym miejscu. W obiekcie jest winda. Piękny widok z okna na kawałek miasteczka i na częściowo ośnieżone szczyty gór. Bardzo wygodne łóżka i poduszki, nieprzesadnie ciężkie kołderki. Dobre oświetlenie pokoju, również do czytania. Przestronna łazienka z dużą i szczelną kabiną prysznicową. Znakomite śniadania, w tym dania na ciepło (jajecznica, kiełbaski, placuszki), lokalne sery, warzywa i owoce, jogurty, a nawet bita śmietana z owocami. Oprócz tego smaczne ciasta i ciasteczka. Pyszna kawa i dobre soki. Jadalnia przestronna, nigdy nie było tłoku i zaglądania sobie w talerze. Przyjazny, uprzejmy personel.

The owners were extremely helpful and made us feel at home. The spa facilities were an added bonus which my wife and daughter enjoyed after a long day skiing. Overall we had a wonderful stay, very comfortable, friendly and peaceful, we did not want for anything. Would highly recommend.

Obiekt typowo włoski, w starym, dobrym stylu, można poczuć włoski, prawdziwy klimat. Bardzo sympatyczny właściciel, służący wskazówkami i pomocą. Warunki dobre, czysto, łóżko bardzo wygodne, cisza, spokój, było wszystko co potrzeba, jak w ofercie. Śniadanie typowo włoskie, raczej na słodko. Aosta niezwykle urokliwa. Pozdrawiamy serdecznie!

Beautiful, Secret little gem. We stopped off here as a last minute resort after being stuck trying to get through the Mont Blanc Tunnel for 4 hours 😫 The little chalet was spacious, light, immaculate and beautiful. We were a party of 4 adults, a teenager and a toddler and we had more than enough room. Parking on site which was under cctv and close to cabin. The surroundings are something you see in movies and stunning to wake up to. There is a little park which the toddler enjoyed and kept her busy for an hour before bed. The resort was very peaceful and the restaurant food was amazing! Best pizza we had in Italy. We enjoyed our surprise stay so much that we left our main accommodation a day early on the way back to stay again!
