Location, oh my gosh, locaaation, it is mysterious and beautiful! Special thank you to the person at the reception for speaking all the languages in the world and combining for us the take away food, because we could not attend the breakfast, due to the long hike.

Tyssedal Hotel is by the Hardangerfjorden at the foot of the Hardangervidda Mountains, 6 km north of central Odda. It offers free WiFi, private parking and free sauna access. The hotel was a last-minute find, but we could not have been happier. The bed was great and the window opens wide to let in the cool night air! The location was ideal for our trip to Trolltunga and the included breakfast fueled us for the hike. Later, at dinner, we enjoyed local apple liqueurs that were amazing! My only regret is that we forgot to buy some to take home.

This hotel is located by Lake Sandvevatnet in the village of Odda, close to the Hardangervidda National Park and Folgefonna Glacier Park. The centre of Odda is 2.1 km away. Nice, comfy mattress, good pillows. Bathroom is little small, but just enough for smaller people. You have a teapot, tea, some coffee, sugar. The staff is nice, they will their best to help you.

This place was a haven after a long day hiking in the snow. We had struggled to find somewhere to eat as we were there out of season but the hotel arranged dinner for us that night. The room was very big and comfortable, an excellent place to relax after a strenuous day! It was also excellent value for money. Some reviews said the view wasn't good as of a car park, but we had a view the other side of a forest beyond a road so we're very happy!
