Staff were very welcoming and friendly (thank you Sue). Locals hang out at the bar in the evenings which adds a nice vibe to the place. Everything in Hokitika within walking distance.

Surrounded by natural rainforest on New Zealand's West Coast, Te Waonui Forest Retreat is a short drive from Franz Josef Glacier. Guests enjoy free WiFi. The hotel is in the middle of a rain forest. I just kept waiting for a dinosaur to walk by. The staff was AMAZING! Absolutely, exemplary! Five course dinner was delicious and romantic. Breakfast was anything you could dream of!
