Finding the property and parking were so easy. I felt safe there, although these west Texas towns are rough and hardscrabble. Good privacy. The host was very cordial and responsive. Finally, it’s about as close to the Big Bend National Park entrance as you’ll get if staying outside the park. Enthusiastic 5 stars!

Based on Google Maps images, I was a bit afraid that the hotel would be outdated. But there was nothing to be afraid about. This hotel has exceeded all expectations. Check-in was smooth and staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was very spacious with a comfortable bed. We loved the "Old West" vibe in the hotel. Due to the proximity of Big Bend National Park and State Park, the hotel was incredibly silent at night and offered excellent night skies, which resulted in excellent sleep. I cannot wait to go back someday!
