Jan Harmsgat Country House is set in a historic 17th-century farmhouse surrounded by the Langeberg Mountains and the Breede River. The property is really beautiful and offers an authentic experience. The staff was great and really taking care. We really enjoyed our stay with the family.

De Kloof Heritage estate is a Cape Dutch boutique hotel and spa , is just a few minutes walk into the heart of Swellendam. It has a 12-metre outdoor pool and spa with panoramic mountain views. Beautiful traditional thatched buildings set in beautifully maintained gardens. Our cottage was spacious and tastefully decorated. Water bed was sensational. I think that was my second experience of a water bed and loved it. Jocelyn and Linda were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and some lovely choices of continental and cooked dishes. Walking distance to the town, delightful cafes and restaurants. The museum is a must visit. Roy, the owner was very kind and interested in our well being. Pool was sensational!!!🤣

We stopped in Swellendam on our way from the airport to the Garden Route, so the location was not a destination for us. The Upper Deck was welcoming, clean, and relaxing. We appreciated the spacious apartment, with much more to offer than we needed in terms of utensils and household items. The upper deck itself (outside the apartment) has cozy seating and would be something we would enjoy on a longer stay, but we did not spend enough time on this trip. We slept well, despite some slight occasional noise from the road. The breakfast was delicious, including hot items, and got us ready for the day.
