We had a great time staying at Ryutakuzenji! The owner is very friendly and welcoming and provided a lot of great insights to the history of the property. This was definitely the most unique stay we had in Japan and I would recommend it to anyone. Thank you Mr. Tendou!

Minakamisansou ligger blot 36 km fra Gala Yuzawa Snow Resort og tilbyder indkvartering i Minakami med adgang til udendørs bad, fælles opholdsstue og elevator. Great view from reserved room. Clean and quiet. Seperate female shared onsen. Just a few staff who can speak english but they all are ful of service mind. The Hotel is far from the citi but you can request hotel's sutter bus to pick you up from JR Minakami station.

Soumeian ligger i Kusatsu i Gunma-regionen og tilbyder indkvartering med gratis wi-fi, gratis privat parkering samt adgang til et varmt kildebad. This ryokan was the highlight of our trip to Japan. Excellent seasonal and varied breakfast options, with an attention to detail unparalleled in my travel experience. The soaking pools met our hopes and needs perfectly, and we preferred the private rooms to any of the town’s public onsens. Our room was very comfortable and quiet, and the location was great—away from the hustle and bustle of the main square. Staff were incredible—helpful, welcoming, and friendly despite our limited Japanese language skills! Would highly recommend for a quiet, peaceful stay.

Sekizenkan Kashotei Sanso ligger 36 km fra Ishidan-gai-trappen og tilbyder 4-stjernet indkvartering i Nakanojo samt udendørs bad. The room was cozy and comfortable! Loved the traditional rooms! The staff was very polite and friendly! Also helped us a lot when we had questions and showed us everything and what to wear etc. We just was unsure about the rules for tattoos bc we both had some (more anime/manga and animal tattoos) and we messaged the hotel before and they said to cover them or just use the private ones which we also reserved in advance (they was awesome!). But as we arrived there, the receptionist told us just some special Japanese tattoos are not allowed (forget the correct name for it but we guess the common yakuza ones). So we were able to use all public Onsens too what was really awesome! Bc we thought we just can use the private ones! It was also possible to order a veggie Menu!

Houshi Onsen Chojukan ligger langs Houshi-floden og byder på offentlig varm kilde, indkvartering i japansk stil med gratis trådløs internetadgang og japansk køkken. It was so beautiful! It is a bit remote, but thats exactly what we liked about it! It lies in a nice valley, that in december was a bit snowy. Ofcourse, the very traditional building was so sophisticated and beautiful, but even though it felt such high end (and it is!), we felt comfortable there. It was easy to relax, the Onsen are amazing and beautiful. Very kind staff as well, they spoke english. The food was exceptional as well. One of us was vegetarian, we let them know beforehand and it was no problem. Would recommend at least 2 night stays. The price for the value you get is exceptional.

Oyado Tamaki har indendørs/udendørs varme kilder og en traditionel have med bænke, hvor gæsterne kan sidde og slappe af. The kaiseki breakfast and dinner were amazing! They were able to accommodate my vegetarian diet!! All the meals were delicious and filling. The futons are super comfy to sleep on. They provided yukatas to sleep in as well, as to walk inside the ryokan and outside around town too if you choose. And the service was amazing!! One of our cousins unfortunately twisted her ankle while we were hiking in the area and they recommended a great local clinic to take her to, brought ice packs and bags and a shower chair for her to use as well. The in room massage that we booked was also great! Major props to our masseuse who got out alot of my knots. Prior to staying here, when I learned that my room was not considered a non-smoking room, I was super concerned as I have asthma and can't handle the smell of smoke. But they were able to air it out or do something as we didn't smell any smoke at all! I was super grateful and definitely relieved about this. One of the best ryokans I've stayed at and I would definitely stay here again if I'm in the area!! Very close to the iconic stone steps.

Hotellet Takaragawa Onsen Osenkaku er indrettet i japansk stil og ligger 10 minutters kørsel fra skisportsstedet Hodaigi. Wonderful experience! Hotel is directly at the Onsen. Also great traditional Dinner and Breakfast! The free shuttle service was perfect to get to and from the hotel
