Onsen Guest House Tsutaya

Hakone

Boasting an open-air bath and views of mountain, Onsen Guest House Tsutaya is a recently renovated ryokan situated in Hakone, 6.5 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station. Free WiFi is available throughout the property and private parking is available on site. The accommodation features a lift, a shared kitchen and luggage storage for guests. Incredibly kind, friendly and helpful staff. Our stay coincided with their 4th anniversary and there was a fun sake party. The common areas were clean, quiet and comfortable to lounge in, and the kitchen had all the amenities. Indoor and outdoor onsens were very relaxing and nicely designed. The dormitory bunkbed cubes were surprisingly cozy and comfortable. Overall, a great place to stay, highly recommended!

Hot Spring Inn Hakone Suisen

Hakone

The property has mountain and quiet street views, and is 4.6 km from Hakone Open-Air Museum. The accommodation features a lift, a shared kitchen and luggage storage for guests.

The ryokan is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in.

The nearest airport is Oshima Airport, 87 km from the ryokan. The staff at Hakone Suisen are so kind and made me feel so welcome! They are foreigner (Eng. lang) friendly, and will guide you about the facilities as well. The ryokan is an easy 5-6 minute walk from the Ohiradai train station. The room I had was extremely clean as well. My room had a private onsen, which was very clean as well. Since this ryokan does not provide dining services, you will need to bring your own food with you (either packaged or ingredients to cook). If you opt to cook, you will need to reserve time in the kitchen to do so. As a solo traveler, Hakone Suisen was amazing as my first time staying at a ryokan. When I booked I let them know it would be my birthday the day of my arrival, and they provided me free celebratory champagne and a birthday card with a photo! It really made my birthday even more special. I will definitely book with them again the next time I visit Hakone.

The property is set 3.5 km from Edo Tokyo Museum, 6 km from Marunouchi Building and 6 km from Yasukuni Shrine. Free WiFi is available. I can't even begin to describe it, I loved this place. It really holds a special place in my heart. This was my first ever vacation alone, and Tatsuo was amazing at easing me into the stay. I miss Japan badly, and I feel Tatsuo was a key contributor to making everyday great. The location was great with heaps of food nearby, the rooms were cosy, felt like a home away from home. The toilets and showers were very clean and so was the rest of the building in general. Would live there if I could, 10/10
