Upon arrival, we were advised that Booking.com had double booked the room, so there were no double rooms available. The manageress, Jess stepped in and sorted the situation most efficiently. She gave us the option of her sorting out a B&B locally or there was a single room they could put a camp bed in. We went with this option and it was just about manageable. Our stay was complimentary which was a very generous gesture and must appreciated.
Evening meal and breakfast were faultless.

The planting of the garden was impressive and attracting loads of bees and birds. The access up the hill to see the chickens was ace. Go at dusk to see rabbits eating the kitchen garden.

Very laid back in beautiful countryside, the dinner was very good and staff friendly and polite, deserves more bookings as it wasn’t anywhere near full but this could be time of the year & our stay was early in the week.

The room was really spacious with comfortable bedding and luxuriously fresh linen and towels. The added bonus of a small living room made it seem like a suite. Breakfast was beautifully and fresly prepared with quality ingredients. We were spoilt.

Beautiful village by the river.
Beautiful village by the river. Very central and convenient, e.g. Ludlow, Leominster, but other interesting locations well worth a visit, e.g. local churches, Wigmore castle, Burton Court. Did not enjoy Croft Castle as much. National Trust too bullish in their attitude. The walks in the surrounding parkland were far more relaxing and satisfying!

Have driven through Leintwardine numerous times.
Have driven through Leintwardine numerous times. This was the first time I have stayed. It has not changed in any way and one can relax and enjoy it's beautiful location. A time spent by the gently flowing river whilst picnicking is not to be missed. An opportunity to visit the local butcher to purchase some of his home-made sausages and gorgeous bacon should not be missed

All the staff were very friendly and welcoming.
All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We found our stay very relaxing, cosy and the food was excellent. The location was great for us and in easy reach of all the places we wanted to visit. We are very happy with our stay and will definitely be returning to stay when we visit the area again.
Staff very friendly and efficient. We booked in late Sunday afternoon and did not realize that food service stopped at 6pm. Lady on reception...hotel manager I think went out of her way to ring round other places for us. Nothing suitable so she managed to book us a table despite being fully booked and very busy.
Beautiful location on the river with wonderful views..lovely inside and outside seating areas....excellent service and comfortable clean rooms. Superb breakfast freshly cooked to order with veggie sausages for my husband.
Chris and Nicki were very friendly and welcoming hosts and keen to help us make the most of our stay. The property is in a very quiet rural location, and very peaceful. A mini-fridge was nice to find in the room, along with items to welcome us. The private bathroom was big and included both a bath and a shower. Breakfasts were really great with plenty of choices and generous servings (eggs from the chickens in the garden!). We were staying for an event nearby and it was nice that the host family visited it as well.
Beautiful tranquil surroundings. A great escape from the daily stress of everyday life that comes from living in a fast paced city. Was able to truly immerse myself with nature in this rural setting. The farmhouse has warmth and character, making my stay feel like I was in someone's home and not in a hotel environment. Sally and Adrian were the perfect hosts. Always available when I needed them. Breakfast was made to order and served at the table. A true personal service.
The breakfast was both continental and cooked. Excellent preparation for a day's sight-seeing. We have answered all your questions by ticking boxes but have to say that magnificent reports on your website were in no way misleading. It was an old building, very well modernised. Cooking was excellent. A good wine list.
Tables on the lawn faced the river. Although the front of the hotel faced the road, traffic noise was not noticeable and bedrooms were very quiet.
Lovely relaxing hotel, beautiful beer garden right next to a river. Friendly, helpful and professional staff where nothing was too much trouble. I enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner which were all faultless and with great choice of drinks. This was a work trip but am now obliged to return with my wife as she saw the pictures I took during my stay. I look forward to a weekend break at the Lion.
The hotel had charm and we liked it. The room was nice. The cooked breakfast was first rate and the optional evening meals were very good and well presented. If you want a peaceful evening meal then the upstairs dining room is perfect. Downstairs is busy and vibrant.
The hotel is excellent, in a beautiful location and is kept in a lovely clean condition by a friendly and efficient staff. The one evening meal we had was good and the service spot on. The room was very clean and comfortable.
It was so welcoming. I used to live in Leintwardine and I wanted to visit the village where I was a child. It’s right in the centre. good for my trip to Ludlow. I was driving on to North Wales. It was a half way point.
