I was even surprised how nice was everything in this hotel. I booked semi-bouble and the was worried, but the room is so well organised that you have place for everything you need. The bathroom was also very clean and convenient. There is an underground parking, we payed 600¥ for a day, which in my opinion is a very good price. I really liked everything in this hotel.

Nigatta was a much slower pace. Feels like Sunday everyday. Chilled. It has fabulous restaurants and little local bars, great scenery. Definitely worth a visit for a few days. The bullet train ride from Tokyo to Niigata had lots of beautiful scenery along the way. So glad we decided to visit here on our third trip to Japan. Incredibly easy to get around with such an efficient bus service.

I spent 2 nights in Niigata because the hotel I wanted was booked out. I recommend spending there at least three nights. I visited Yahiko, a city nearby, which has a gorgeous park with Momiji trees, it was beautiful at the end of October. However, I had only a small amount of time for Niigata itself.

The only thing going for Niigata is the Alchemist Bar & Dining restaurant (Australian chef/owner). We were really disappointed and had been to 5 other cities in Japan which were fantastic. We would not visit Niigata again. A lot of litter and surprisingly, graffiti which is rare for Japan.

Days before checking in at Country Hotel Niigata, I was in Tokyo and Nagano and my schedule was crazy, I hardly got quality sleep. But when I was in that hotel, I got all the sleep I needed because it was so quiet, the room facilities were just right, and the hotel staff were nice and friendly.

I stay at downtown, near the train station. So it is pretty much a lot of things to do. Excellent restaurants all around the area.
The rest of the trip was taking trains to see different districts of Niigata. Lots of them has country side feels but it was good. Cute, well managed cities.

Niigata city itself is a little lackluster; there’s some interesting things to do (Pier Bandai and the nearby Toki Messe observation deck, the ponshukan at the station), though the real gems lay outside the city like Yahiko mountain and shrine
Location is fantastic, literally in the train station, and right next door - literally, there's an adjoining door! - to Ponshukan, which is recommended for its sake-tasting 'bar' and local shopping. A twin room is small, but very clean and perfectly comfortable so long as you're not looking to hang out in it all day. If you're arriving in Niigata late or leaving early, and don't want the inconvenience of traveling between the station and your accommodation then Hotel Mets can't really be beaten.
The hotel is just across Niigata Station. Since I arrived before check in, they kept my luggage for me. The single room was a good size, and it even had a sitting area with a table. Room had a humidifier, hangers, fabric freshener, shoe brush. Power outlets near the bed. Water kettle, cups, glasses, refrigerator also available. Bottled water, towels, slippers, pajamas were provided. Loved my stay at Hotel Global View Niigata!
I was even surprised how nice was everything in this hotel. I booked semi-bouble and the was worried, but the room is so well organised that you have place for everything you need. Conveniently located. We usually stay at a different hotel when we come to Niigata, but this time the South Exit location was a great fit for our schedule. Nice and comfy bed,
great mattress, large enough room compared to other business hotels in Japan. Lived the price-value balance. Amazing breakfast with a focus on a local produce. Will definitely stay again.
Nice location - within a 7 min walk from Niigata station.
Nice amenities and little extras in the room and the hotel itself - for instance, toiletries in the lobby and the onsen area, mini icecream after onsen, nice ramen in the evening, etc. - lovely surprises.
The breakfast is great - with local dishes, such as noppei, included. That's a cool touch.
Everything was amazing. The room was comfortable and relaxing, and the hotel was so much more lovely than I was expecting for the price! The staff were kind and accommodating, offering us an umbrella on a rainy day when we forgot ours and helping us to organise a taxi when we were leaving. I am extremely happy with this hotel and would book again
This is a local residential house accomodation and you can get a touch of traditional Japanese housing and living style. Wifi provided is good. Air conditioner works well (good news when you stay in summer). The location is good, easy connecting to Niigata train station via bus. And it is within walking distance to reach many local restaurants.
it was perfect !
the staff was really kind and i don't have any problems during my stay .
All explications were explained simply and the view was beautiful.
it's probably the most big hotel that i go in my life and probably the most big hotel of niigata !
thank you very much , i will definetly return there one day 👍😊
I have stayed at the Comfort Hotel chain before. This is an older property but they are all basically the same so you know what you are getting and its pretty standard: Laundry. Breakfast. NO smoking property. However given my comments below I selected another hotel when I returned to Niigata.
We were surprised to find that they had an onsen there at the hotel as well as a pool. The tv showed all the information you might want and more, such as how busy the onsen was at any given time, wifi/password, and you could even use it to order pizza or other services if you wanted.
The location was great, within a 10-minute walk from Niigata Station. The staff was friendly, and they even gave us some discount coupons for their sauna. The neighborhood was very safe. This is a nice choice when you are traveling on a budget.
