  “The hotel was a wonderful oasis in a slightly frayed round the edges area but was less than 200m from the subway station. The rooms were cleaned when we wanted them; staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a filling continental buffet. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate was on tap. The water was hot. Heating worked well. The room was quiet. The building was once a theatre where Houdini and the Marx Brothers performed. Commuting was not too long - 30 minutes to Manhattan.”
